  My dad replied to news about my girlfriend with a green check mark. Honestly, appropriate. Our generation only writes well over text because we had to get good at it to date. AOL Instant Messenger, then years of practice with the stakes turned all the way up. His generation never needed the skill, so they never built it. The thumbs up isn't him being short with you. It's the whole sentence.

  @brockpierson Best of all were the PackardHell Combo sound card and modem, which would literally have IRQ conflicts with itself! I spent many a long call (AOL Tech Support in 96-98) trying to find a combination that a particular machine would accept.

  @TommyO1947 And every body posted pictures on face book too So who is to blame, the consumer. They kept posting stuff on the lives, and leaving updates at default. Man followed right off the pier. AOL for a while all were using it. Then the discovery of FTP lmao No more chatting in public, we built are own room and games too.
