beachgrad05 (@beachgrad05) reported from Cypress, California@kevinandbean my brother had AOL and when he died in 2006, I contacted them to cancel. The ******* with AOL kept to his script they use to prevent canceling about how my brother may need access in future to HIS email. I was so angry by time I finally got off the phone.

Monica (@LikeMyDucks) reported from Bellflower, California@noobfatherof1 @Fritz588_ @AOC Well, if Amazon would have set up shop there, that community wouldn't be so poor, cuz jobs! And they were going to build a new school & upgrade existing schools with high technology. @AOL blew it! You haven't the foggiest how they would have upgraded the whole community! #idiotโ

Asymmetric Edge Research (@AsymEdge) reported@2147mill The problem with the normie test is that the internet passed it in 1999 too. Totally non techy families were on AOL back then as well, over 20 million of them by the end of 1999. Amazon went from 17 million customers to 25 million between 1999 and 2001 and nearly doubled revenue, and the stock still lost 94% over those two years. So usage only tells you the thing is real. For the bubble question I look at what people pay for the earnings. Cisco was over 100x forward at the 2000 top, Nvidia is under 20x right now. Same thing with the crypto half of your post by the way. Nobody uses gold day to day either and that never made gold a bubble.

๐๐ผ๐ฒ ๐ฅ๐ผ๐๐ฎ๐๐ผ (@joerosato) reported@Dan_Jeffries1 Gates never said this. In the 1990s, Microsoft focused on proprietary online networks (MSN) rather than the 'internet'. Think AOL. The 'internet' was a side product you got by connecting to their proprietary service. Downplaying to be the source of connection = marketing ๐
