@PositivelyJC @FadedPlagueArt I ran an AOL sheet for a few months about 1000 subs. 60% of what everyone reported just came from Reuters. The rest did really just come down to who you trusted or knew. I supposedly interviewed Candido, Sunny, and Kanyon but I'll never know for sure despite my confidence then.

  • verenahallam Verena (@verenahallam) reported

Does anyone remember an old game from the 90s, possibly early 2000s that you played on AOL, involving a turkey/turkeys? I’m losing my mind trying to track down any sort of screenshots or a name but I SWEAR it existed 🦃 Might have had something to do with thanksgiving

  • iayam Maya (@iayam) reported

@choomnice If they are both single, then what is the issue? I’ve been a Yang Zi fan since the AOL, and I always want her to be happy. It’s sad she can’t even be free in her own private space, and there are those bringing her down by throwing malice on what can easily happen between friends.

  • BigApeAllCity Not Even Doom Music (@BigApeAllCity) reported

@SspycaMob its really weirdly high effort and like... i mean its not even that bad tbh but i would not be caught dead on an AOL forum using this against someone i'd get proto-ratio'd

@DavidblogerICBW We were still learning so much about email and the Internet back then; heck, the government didn't even have servers set up during Powell's tenure. If I remember correctly, he used an AOL email address because of that. The government was slow to get on that bandwagon.
