@nemalki What's ironic is this was a remake of an MGM film Turner Pictures had in development when the Time Warner merger happened, and Ted didn't realize how bad the AOL deal was until it was too late and he couldn't do anything. Ouch.

@JonErlichman In the 90s #aol was a monopoly it is to bad @SteveCase didn't capitalize on their headstart with broadband and search, they tried to merge with #timewarner but didn't capitalize, but the memories of childhood, you got mail and the buzz of signing on, is forever engraved

@Jane14457995 …with another drop happening during their beta. It definitely sucks that lots of folks didn’t make it in, or missed their access codes. The team did mention they saw problems with yahoo and aol accounts due to the email service they are working with…

@WMumphreyIII @Variety Nahhhhhhh. People stupid but not that stupid. YTTV crushes them in overall value unless Hulu changes their UI/UX they'll never be able to keep users. Because cost is all that really matters, unless you can make it "pretty". Hulu is a terrible service. It's like a '93 AOL site.

@eyeseeyou706 There were definitely adults in AOL kids chat rooms and on Cartoon Network boards (when they had the whole Toonami and Adult Swim segment for them).

At least a third of my cousins were born on 4/29 which only became an issue when it was time to choose screen names I lost many cousins during the AOL wars (1996-1999)
