@NnnnnDeee @Activoid @pramsey342 @AOC I’m glad you support America Online. Personally, I think it’s a dead platform, but Canada seems perpetually stuck in the past anyway. Now, read the room and go back to whatever it is you Canadians do. Surfing moose-riding chat rooms on AOL I suppose... #Muted for stupidity.

  • jhamby Jake Hamby (@jhamby) reported from Los Angeles, California

@sarahjeong I have no idea what he's worked up about. I just read what you wrote and it all made perfect sense to me. I have no love for Google or Facebook, but the law is what it is so that a previous generation of service providers (AOL & friends) wouldn't be sued out of existence.

  • SethDaSportsMan Seth Klein (@SethDaSportsMan) reported from Los Angeles, California

@realfakewalter Like, when AOL, emails, and texting first came out, no one really had problems spelling “your” or “you’re”. Now it’s so rampant I think it’s people’s brains have either regressed or they’ve just stopped caring. It’s like Idiocracy

  • StephanieDyas Stephanie Dyas (@StephanieDyas) reported from Los Angeles, California

Imagine if this pandemic had happened in the early 90s when some people maybe had AOL for internet with slow dial up. Now we have FaceTime, Skype, Zoom, Netflix Party and Card Against Humanity virtual games to connect with friends. Could be worse.

  • wyntermitchell Wʏɴᴛᴇʀ Mɪᴛᴄʜᴇʟʟ (Rᴏʜʀʙᴀᴜɢʜ) (@wyntermitchell) reported from Los Angeles, California

I spiraled for 2-3 years from 14-17 making collages & fake radio shows, swaying to Fiona & Bjork while running AOL fan fiction chatrooms & modifying fish filets but I was performing Veronica Sawyer...literally no one gave a shit...or much less would have followed me on Instagram

AOL Issues Reports

Latest outage, problems and issue reports in social media:

  • arc2one3 Alex Campbell (@arc2one3) reported

@Lucas_Shaw @TaylorLorenz Discovery doesn’t understand Hollywood biz culture. AOL had the same problem. WB/HBO spends money to make it right. Creatives like that. Discovery is where you go to make disposable tv on the cheap. This merger will end same as AOL did

  • xshadow23x Zippy (@xshadow23x) reported

@angel_ponders Um, aaaat least it's not AOL again? WB has been thru a *lot* of questionable owners over the decades. This too shall pass. Or succeed? Who knows. PS., **** AT&T

  • Music_OnHold Asterisk PBX Dude (@Music_OnHold) reported

I said it in 2000 and I'll say it again. "Mass-market consumer oriented social media is a horrible idea. It's bad enough the AOL'ers figured out how to IRC."

  • cougrr ink and yarn | רחל-ליבא (@cougrr) reported

@cvrlne I got into RP/fanzines (which were photocopied/mailed!) on AOL, but soon after that: USENET. IRC. LiveJournal. RSS feeds, webcomics. Never really got into MU*s. Sites with forums (cough)Yerf(cough) and art tutorials. Fanfic. DeviantArt. ICQ (My UIN was only 6 digits.) Napster.

  • astrosteve astrosteve (@astrosteve) reported

TIL that AOL still has about 2.2 million people using their dialup service. Wild there's still people on dialup in 2022.

  • CRAZiECRiSSiE CRiSSiE ✨ (@CRAZiECRiSSiE) reported

@tallntran I just googled it because my sister had the same issue the other night?, apparently they stopped f&f for business accounts :/ I have another PayPal though but instead of aol it’s gmail

  • TechCakeMix TechnicalCakeMix (@TechCakeMix) reported

Hey @AOLSupportHelp, is it possible to get an account support reps extension? Someone has listed my personal phone # as their recovery and is blowing up my phone with verification codes

  • Grndma211and1 Beth ☮️ (@Grndma211and1) reported

So, @AOL, why do you promote @SenatorRounds' lies about the Inflation Reduction Act? It will be the best and only law to help Americans since the GQP Tax Scam in 2017. Why is @AOL promoting the lies?

  • TheMattaconda Matt McCarthy (@TheMattaconda) reported

@dbongino It doesn't drive them crazy. It actually appears to make them point out your childish stupidity. You act like you invented Trolling , but you're still at AOL 2.0 levels. It's just sad and cringe. Seriously, be a man. Grow ******** up.

  • boba_fi Fiona 🔜 Viencon 🇳🇱 (@boba_fi) reported

@gasterblasters I remember finding out about cons in 2005 and so I went to MCM for the first time in 06!! All through the help of the AOL forums LOL
