The internet sucks. facebook goes down and it's like the whole internet goes down. AOL dreamed of being a one stop shop internet and we all hated that **** in the 90s. But here we are again with the internet basically being only a few sites. We need to break up monopolybook.

  • stevestreeting Steve Streeting (@stevestreeting) reported

You’re basically all-in on a reskinned AOL, but run by terrible human beings. What are you thinking

@shambrookben @AuntHortense I remember the early days of AOL messenger, a bunch of us were doing pig play with a New Jersey housewife, and we realized that we could also be texting a 14 yr old and we would never have known.

  • ultramagnus_tcv 💻🏳️‍🌈 (@ultramagnus_tcv) reported

But then, I thought about the people who’s never touched any of those things. Some of them came from AOL, the ones who never uninstalled it from their computers. They remember a world where paper letters and phone calls were more prevalent. Could they really go back?

  • Justin14Not 🎃NotJustin14🎃 (@Justin14Not) reported

@nytimes I have never been on Facebook, I thought it was a ripoff of AOL at its heights—mid 1990s to about 2005. I never saw a need to join Facebook; I doubt that I ever would at this juncture. I don’t understand this news bcuz I don’t understand Facebook.
