Tim Isenman (@TimIsenman) reportedIs there a cogent explanation for who broke the web? Was it websites, browsers, Google/Ad companies? Why ******** does every website look like AOL pop-up spam??? 😫

Philip A. Wasserman (@pawlawscv) reported@LizNigroCFLS Down 33 billion on the close. Worst buy since AOL Time Warner, unless he can take it public one day at a price above $54.20. But he’s got the platform. Who knows? Good deal for the shareholders who cashed in.

Dana Wessel (@DanaWessel) reportedWhere did you hang out on the internet pre Twitter/social media? I logged a lot of hours on this AOL video game site called ANT. Non stop flame wars on the message board between N64 and Playstation fans. It was so fun and pure.

Sass Transit (@SassTransit) reported@deadphishesq Who the f*ck misses AOL chat rooms? Those things were awful, and I say this having met you in one.
-
JWalk (@CSFactor) reported@itsJeffTiedrich Support this platform is not in my future, have to just delete the app because Twitter makes it harder to leave than the old AOL or Comcast

Eurnaim (@eurnaim) reported@JeffreyGoldberg Before Twitter there was irc, compuserve, AOL chat rooms, etc. Twitter isn't a rare commodity. Facebook is going down because kids don't use it. They dont use Twitter either. Elons ascribes it as THE town square. That's a fallacy

Dima (@mndp42) reported@sebs_tweets @dvassallo Never really used aol or msn here in US. IRC, then ICQ, then google messenger and Skype. A lot of it also depended on corporate firewall policies. Blocking some of those was easier than others. Now with mobile phones of course it does not matter.
