The Instagram models of today may get likes on their pics, but they’ll never know the flattery of entering the AOL chat room and having Caliboy69 and Bigcock4u1982 plug in their phone cords just to cyber with you.

@Adobe having to fight with support to cancel an unused license is disappointing. Been chatting for 30 min. Feels like try to cancel AOL in 1999.

I can't help but feel like taking cues on how to talk about "the metaverse" from Facebook et. al is a bit like letting Prodigy/AOL define what "the internet" means if there's a technological leap at all, it shouldn't be defined solely by the corporations that want to control it

@theliamnissan I know quite a few Karens who aren't Karens, and some Brandons who aren't considered Biden. Why can't folks just use normal terms: dipstick, jerk, *******, dipwad, creep, bully, fool, idiot... I'll stop here, lest I get in trouble with Twitter like I did AOL

@STIKIDIKIJ @georgehahn @janemarielynch I meant in so far as they tried to become a partitioned section of the internet that nobody ever has to leave. And, they became cheesy AF. You are correct though that AOL never even got close to FB's algorythmic confirmation-bias dopamine-rewarding feedback-loops.
