Garland and his civil (not criminal) suit against Google isn't anything that all websites haven't taken advantage of over the years. I ignore consumer ads, and prefer their search engine/news. Bing, Ask, Yahoo, AOL, Ducks, and the other search/new engines = awful.

@bendreyfuss I think, as I recall, the "idea" was that Road Runner would be the national broadband provider in the US, which you would need if you wanted AOL. AOL, in retrospect, should have developed their own broadband network.

Facebook Business Suite is outdated, looking like AOL. Clunky and Slow. Looks like Meta is putting all their eggs into the Metaverse.

By fail, i don't mean "closes up shop." I mean stops being centrally important. So like, AOL stopped being centrally important but AOL was never as big as FB and it existed in an era of paid monthly minutes. It took a turn for the worst when the entire business model failed.

I've been on travel this week and busy AF. Frankly, checking Twitter in the last 20 minutes hurt my soul. The internet is ******* terrible. We ****** up. We should've stopped after AOL chat rooms.
