Stephanie Howard (@Stephowd) reported@LordFrodsham @HackedOffHugh A surprising number of people in this discussion don’t seen to be aware that the license fee doesn’t just cover the BBC but 70 Freeview channels & all radio. Anyone who doesn’t want to pay the fee can disconnect their TV, watch Sky Sport down the pub and Netflix on their computer

Em to the Ay to the Eff to the Tee (@MaFt) reportedI have solved the BBC licensing "issue". Freeview and radio stays "free" and make any digital stuff (websites, iPlayer/catch-up etc) a subscription. I suspect there'll be enough people that rely on catch-up and iPlayer who would then subscribe / pay license.

Jon Wensley (@jonwensley) reported@PeteSmi15995270 @NorfolkGood1 @DefundBBC But the BBC isn't. And, if the BBC is removed from Freeview, then the platform will die. So unless you make people buy/subscribe to a set-top box like Sky/Virgin (at >£20 per month) they won't have access to any of these channels. Yep, that would go down well.

🌻 David 🌻 (@lofty2401) reported@DuncanLindsay @MrDavidEBrown @MetroUK An hours news??? Not necessary bearing in mind the BBC news is 24 hours as is Sky news, both on Freeview. I’m sorry but this is bad scheduling.
-
Neil Bowers (@NeilRBowers) reported@skytv Hi, Sky Arts is available on FreeView but I get very poor TV reception. How can I watch it online? I have a TV Licence.
-
Gary Scott (@garyscott8383) reported@Lakeuk @timfarron The company dvtv that administrates the UK Freeview network is owned by the BBC.... They choose not to give us the full offering ( that we pay for all the same) so we pay for less service (Tim knows this it was his own campaign when Freeview first came out) we also can't get dab

Graham Taylor (@doctorgreyboots) reported@FreeviewAdvice Hi we have had no freeview signal at all for about a week now. YO31 area of York, served by Bilsdale. Freeview status page for my postcode says there are outages in my area but I can't find any more information. Help!
-
Paul Carmichael (@PCarmichaelVO) reported@d0hertyry4n @TomRafferty4 No, you’re not debating it. You said very clearly that only the elderly and the poor who watch via Freeview should pay. Of course as that’s 16% of the population they would get a hell of a lot less than they do. “Get less if you’re old or poor”. An interesting hill to die on.
-
MadMitch (@MadMitch1929) reported@YesterdayTweets Who cares. Freeview is just a joke now. Having to retune every other month is causing great problems for the elderly.

Paul Convery (@Ravenblade86) reported@_mels13 my parents are having the same problem with RTE 1 on Freeview
