@k1482 @AvonandsomerRob The good lord commonsense. It's about budgets and budgeting. Freeview TV is .... free. So you can't deny it would help household finances, especially for those who are cash-strapped; whether they are employed by the state or not.

Because my brain is mush and assume they don't have this already, but I want to punish the poor further"

@MartinSLewis @bbc5live Cut back on everything back to basics, DD are mortgage, CT, water, TV Licence, Internet & phones all on sim only, G&E are pre pay we dont have subs only freeview, we have no debts at all, bought throws to keep warm an will buy HW bottles turn heating & water down few degrees too

@LemSip27 No some idiot left an item at the station so it had to be checked and it wasn't suspicious. Freeview has been having problems for months with various transmitters or relays going down throughout the UK

@WelshGasDoc @itvhub Oh yus. Dreadful. UK’s most popular soap (Corrie) not even on their front page any more. On iplayer you can start watching a prog on catchup any time after it’s started on Freeview - on ITV you have to wait until several minutes after it’s finished. And UI is *awful*.

@R59V8 I don't know what we pay, so I don't know how good a deal we get. But at least with Freeview you are close enough to the big mast to get no issues. Up here it is terrible - The slightest tropo and it's unwatchable
