@davidgstrachan @karenjellis @MartinSLewis It's a good point! Wouldn't want the Beeb to go down the Advertising route, as IMV it ruins the viewing experience & of course means the same advertising revenue spread over more channels. Of course the Gov could pay to make it available on Freeview (they need to keep that first)

@MrDavidEBrown No, not at all. It's all becoming very fragmented. What will Sky have when they lose the HBO stuff? I've always been a Sky customer but I'll ditch them and go Freeview and have HBO Max when that launches. It's so confusing at the moment.

@JohnSimpsonNews I think there's a difference between it being available on the Internet and on Freeview. German radio broadcasts could presumably be heard on a crackling signal in WWII. Not on HD on a 50 inch screen in my living room. Or do you see them as essentially the same?

@insimonated Thanks fella. I'm trying to get away from Virgin at the moment. Have sorted freeview now so will be calling to cancel all services shortly once I've sourced replacement WiFi provider. Virgin offered me a £2 reduction in my *almost* £100 monthly bill to remove the following:

Have questioned why so few stations on Freeview in BN12 area. The reply from Freeview indicates reception in the area is poor as only a relay service & many stations not provided. Here is the conversation & how to complain to improve the service if you agree (I want Sky Arts)

@MartinD64044821 @BBCBreaking It could theoretically still broadcast on Freeview but they could not get the signal to the UK without using an EU regulated distribution company. Now even that possibility is shut down. If you are desperate you can watch it online.

@zealous44672945 Hi Zealous. The Cardiff transmitter is broadcasting all the usual Freeview services, but a separate mutliplex for the Cardiff region (equivalent to the Manchester multiplex) never made it to air, so it's been included on the site as a little joke.
