@robert_lawman Possibly never. ADSL the only option. Fibre been on telegraph poles for a year (falling trees permitting) but then copper wire from pole to Set top box. 20Mb/s max (ambitious). 1Mb/s up. Unlimited GBs cos must have French Freeview TV. 34ish p/m (averaged) over 2yr contract.

@putthetellyon And on top of that HD channels are actually closing down on Freeview. The picture quality of low bit-rate SD channels is increasingly an issue in a world where people have bigger TV and HD streaming services as the norm.

Bear in mind that the original Freeview (UK) group was launched back in 2002 so Channel 5 is only 20 or so years late Must have been all of that Public Service stuff they were organising which meant they couldn't join the BBC, ITV, Channel 4 and Sky 16/
