  The #5g nonsense is awful. People setting fire to masts serving critical communications is madness. The frequency used in 5g has been redeployed from tv / freeview but still considerably lower power. 5g’s only side effect is faster & lower latency mobile internet #5gconspiracy

  There's an interesting problem here. Switching off Freeview would make spectrum available for 5/6G, but at the (enormous) cost of putting all that bandwidth on existing connections. Not least all the perfectly good non-smart TVs that would become E-waste overnight.

  @WhichUK For live events,internet speed isn’t everything. For reliability/lowest delay, broadcast still wins: Freeview/satellite first,then cable/TV provider. Fibre streaming is great,but usually behind “live”. 5G/4G/Starlink can work well, but depend more on signal, congestion and load.

  Worst case scenario on That's TV channels on Freeview I'm posting this because Freeview channel 75 That's Entertainment deadline is over and nothing been broadcasting yet the deadline was on Wednesday 22nd July 2026. Freeview channel 7 & 8 That's Local channels are not affected by this. All That's channels on Freeview will be removed from the EPG without notice.   @OlooneyJohn Our freeview doesnt even work. Can never get all the channels, they seem to go missing and the signal often drops out.
