The #5g nonsense is awful. People setting fire to masts serving critical communications is madness. The frequency used in 5g has been redeployed from tv / freeview but still considerably lower power. 5g’s only side effect is faster & lower latency mobile internet #5gconspiracy

@WilliamAllen29 @Garbhan_D I presume they're only blocked where they can be blocked i.e. via Sky, where location of the viewer is known. It wouldn't be feasible to block thru Freeview, as that just works off of transmitters. Most countries have land borders, so signal leakage presumably tolerated re rights

Freeview and radio services in North Yorkshire and Teesside have been affected by a complete loss of service at Bilsdale transmitter. Services fell off air at 1:26pm this afternoon. Viewers are advised not to retune.

BILLSDALE TRANSMITTER PROBLEMS DUE TO FIREM CAUSING TELEVISION RECEPTION PROBLEMS.THOSE WHO HAVE SKY OR FREEVIEW WILL NOT BE AFFECTED. REPAIR TIME COULD BE ONE OR TWO WEEKS.

Over 3 hrs I've spent trying to figure out why the Freeview side of my BT box lost all the channels with no signal. Stripped wires removed plugs...checked other TVs ...only to finally find out the local transmitter is on 🔥.. not happy.....bedtime.....😠😠

@jonathanteacher This is what we’re finding. I’m going into a no-contract basic package for now. If I find we’re still not getting more use out of it as a service than we could just get on Freeview boxes, then I’ll just ditch them.

@Bob_Fischer Ah, is this why I've seen a few NE chums complaining of Freeview not working today? We nearly had a similar thing in 2018 when all of West Yorkshire and the countryside around Manchester was on fire, including Winter Hill, the main NW transmitter. During the World Cup too!

According to Digital UK, the platform operator behind the Freeview service, engineering work was scheduled at #Bilsdale this week. Local installers were warned of reduced power affecting TV reception.
