The #5g nonsense is awful. People setting fire to masts serving critical communications is madness. The frequency used in 5g has been redeployed from tv / freeview but still considerably lower power. 5g’s only side effect is faster & lower latency mobile internet #5gconspiracy

@EBRedding5 @brv1983 @MartinSLewis Ppl are forced to pay it to watch ITV,CH4, Ch5, Dave, Paramount Network all of which are funded by adverts not the BBC or Licence Fee. Freeview isnt Free..

  • DaveWayne306 Dave Wayne (@DaveWayne306) reported

@simonday And how many of these shows, and others such as QI, Mock the Week, etc. are repeated on freeview, cable, and satellite channels, and probably being watched by people who "never watch BBC" ?

  • jerryalderson Jerry C Alderson (@jerryalderson) reported

@back_the_BBC #Subscription for TV channels cannot currently be achieved on Freeview because it doesn't support encryption with identity-based decryption. This is the principal reason why government reluctantly accepts #BBC TV services must remain fully open until at least 2027.

  • BillboBilleric1 BillboBillericay (@BillboBilleric1) reported

@JuliaHB1 The BBC is not a public service and therefore should not be funded through a form of taxation. 80 plus channels available on Freeview that are not funded by the taxpayer, but I am not allowed to watch them unless I pay the BBC tax.

@ben_pullan @RevRichardColes You don’t listen to BBC radio? You never visited BBC online? You never used other services like Freeview that the license fee also contributes towards?

  • ClintEastwoodw2 Clint East woodwood woodwood. (@ClintEastwoodw2) reported

@DefundBBC For me it simply comes down to not being allowed to watch other channels without a t.v licence, these other channels do not benefit from the t.v licence, why can't I legally watch them? If it was legal there would be a Freeview box out tomorrow that would have BBC restricted.

@pauljamestailor @Av8trix1 @bbcpress Never check the news headlines online? Never listen to local radio stations in the car for traffic reports? Never listen to R1 & 2? Never use Freeview, hosted by the Beeb, or watch their classy repeats on Dave, etc? Never used iPlayer? Yeah, right...

  • __Darling_ Darling (@__Darling_) reported

The only other thing I will say is that practically, it's also a tax on simply owning a tele. Because I can't just have a tv in my house and enjoy freeview and theoretically never watch the BBC, you still get charged. you can't opt out of the BBC and enjoy freeview

@Takethatjoe @darrengrimes_ Oh my god, how would our TV's ever work without Freeview 😱 After all,it's well known that in every other country where BBC-funded Freeview isn't available, TV broadcasting simply doesn't work.

  • pjtobin00 Paddy (@pjtobin00) reported

@AudsDisease @SkyNews What about Freeview channels? The license fee also goes to maintaining the Freeview network
