Sad to hear CBBC is shutting down. There’s not many kids’ channels on Freeview as is (or weren’t when I was a kid) & they made so many beloved shows. Such a shame

  • martinmoulds77 martin moulds (@martinmoulds77) reported

@SkyNews We don’t need BBC, they may as well close down, there are 100’s of free Chanel’s on freeview plus all the sky channels.

  • jssown bbygorl (@jssown) reported

As a poor kid who grew up with just freeview and a full time working mum, the loss of CBBC just makes me insanely sad man

  • PWispa Taylor! (@PWispa) reported

@oocukkidstv No way, they bring back BBC Three only to immediately do this **** afterwards. Wtf are freeview kids who grew out of Cbeebies going to watch now? Pop?

  • fawltytowers69 Joe Hart (@fawltytowers69) reported

@jimalkhalili To be honest we haven’t been able to receive BBC4 on Freeview for years, and switched completely to watching BBC on iPlayer due to building work / Bilsdale burning down. Not sure we’ll ever go back to linear viewing. The times they are a’changing.

  • suffolk_1952 Chris Raynor (@suffolk_1952) reported

@Geates @BBCLookEast I was a big BBC4 viewer but they lost me & a lot of viewers by not transmitting in HD on the Freeview platform from the Sudbury transmitter, ie. Ipswich. They always did on Freesat which I invested in back in 2004 as the analogue reception was awful.

@wohyeah_wohyeah @SkyNews Stop showing endless repeats. Same with freeview where you get the same drama twice a day and reshown countless times or a reality programme from the year dot. Mind you when you had little choice of channel, programmes were far better as was children's TV which today is garbage.

  • kezzdev Kezz (@kezzdev) reported

@picapi__ nahhh this is actually so ****... genuinely what are freeview kids gonna watch when they get home from school ?! ig nothing ???

  • Brekkietweets Brekkie 🇺🇦 (@Brekkietweets) reported

R4 LW is probably long overdue being closed as a separate service at least. Doesn't seem to be any plan though to close the SD services on TV. Surely cutting from two muxes to one on Freeview would be a significant saving, alongside equivalent changes on satellite/cable.

  • JulesPowis Jules Powis 🌻 (@JulesPowis) reported

BBC3's audience is all online. Going linear won't compensate for low-quality content. BBC3 failed online, it'll fail on Freeview. BBC4's target demographic are all linear consumers, they do like the content. Killing-off BBC4 to keep BBC3 on Freeview makes absolutely zero sense.
