@davidgstrachan @karenjellis @MartinSLewis It's a good point! Wouldn't want the Beeb to go down the Advertising route, as IMV it ruins the viewing experience & of course means the same advertising revenue spread over more channels. Of course the Gov could pay to make it available on Freeview (they need to keep that first)

Freeview Play and LG have announced a new five-year agreement this morning, so after the unexpected Freeview Play issues of LG's 2020 TVs, UK LG TV buyers won't have to worry about potentially not getting the main UK terrestrial broadcaster apps again until 2027.

@FreeviewAdvice I live in AL1 district of ST Albans and as of 20.30, 15/3/2022 we lost Freeview. We receive our signal from the Crystal Palace transmitter, do you know of any problems?

@JohnSimpsonNews I think there's a difference between it being available on the Internet and on Freeview. German radio broadcasts could presumably be heard on a crackling signal in WWII. Not on HD on a 50 inch screen in my living room. Or do you see them as essentially the same?

@SkyUK Relying on streaming for all your tv content is a terrible idea. Having freeview as back up means you need an aerial on your roof, which negates the main benefit if sky glass!

@4Viewers Probably both but I was specifically talking about 4HD on terrestrial freeview (ch104). I didn't try the SD channel to compare but it's the same on multiple TVs from different brands. I have a feeling it's a Dolby issue, on my old TV it was better using built in TV speakers

@RadioTimes I have done that, but the site doesn't seem able to remember one's chosen service provider between visits. Despite my remaining logged in it always defaults back to "Popular Channels" rather than remembering that I had selected "Freeview" previously . . .

@MartinD64044821 @BBCBreaking It could theoretically still broadcast on Freeview but they could not get the signal to the UK without using an EU regulated distribution company. Now even that possibility is shut down. If you are desperate you can watch it online.
