  @TalkTV @cjsnowdon @iancollinsuk I don’t necessarily believe a sub model would work, but as an initial step they should require subscription-based logins at least for their TV and web-based services (radio maybe less practical). Maybe just have SD broadcasts on Freeview and require streaming for HD due to practicalities (Sky shouldn’t be an issue). This way those who don’t pay (for a license) will find it hard to view, and it would also cut off more overseas users who view without paying.

  @dodgson_sally Since all the channels on Freeview carry adverts why on earth is the Govt getting involved in trying to scrap it? Surely it funds itself? Bad news for pensioners & disabled people who rely on access to tv every day. Better to scrap GB News & OfCom. @lisanandy @andyburnham

  @TheBasedMother You will soon have no choice. All electrical goods will be connected to wifi. This is one of the reasons they want to ditch Freeview, because it is not a two-way service; and it is not subscription.

  It's a good thing I am not reliant on terrestrial TV as the signal is as choppy as **** tonight. Freeview over the net is perfect. Been the same since the Bilsdale transmitter caught fire.
