  If your Freeview channels have gone off in Yorkshire/North East.....North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue along with crews from Cleveland Fire Brigade are in attendance at a fire involving Bilsdale Mast which provides the TV signal for the region

  @WendyM53 @Freeview Hi, Due to unforeseen circumstances the Bilsdale transmitter is currently not transmitting due to a large fire. The emergency services are onsite and once cleared the engineers will access the transmitter to resolve the issue. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

  BILLSDALE TRANSMITTER PROBLEMS DUE TO FIREM CAUSING TELEVISION RECEPTION PROBLEMS.THOSE WHO HAVE SKY OR FREEVIEW WILL NOT BE AFFECTED. REPAIR TIME COULD BE ONE OR TWO WEEKS.

  @YVimalathevan @TrishSpeirs48 @TheJudasSociety But freeview is a big deal? The biggest channels are freeview in the UK. Being on a barely used subscription service is awful for growth. I suspect WWE get a better financial package in exchange however.

  @itvcalendar @ITV Wow! TV transmitters don't usually catch fire. The structure is metal, so it will be the equipment at the foot of the mast that's will be the problem. It will mean no Freeview for the area it serves.
