Discovery+ seems to have deleted my free account so I could watch the b highlights of giro etc on dmax/quest they had (in HD) And they'll wonder why viewership will rank this year.. 🤷🏻

jason_mi7 (@Mi7Jason) reported@WhichUK For live events, internet speed isn’t everything. For reliability and lowest delay, broadcast TV still wins: Freeview, satellite or cable. Fibre streaming is great but usually behind “live”. 5G/4G/Starlink can work well, but depend more on signal, congestion and load.

Freeview is the biggest digital platform in the U.K. - used by a lot of peoole aged 60, a % of the licence fee helps maintain that service. 1/2

Ali-Pan (@alison_pannell) reported@Jenny_1884 @whinestop I believe the BBC needs to change it's funding model - preferably to a subscription service as using advertising would have negative effects on current Freeview channels. I would like to see a system similar to Sky so you could choose your subscription level.

John Duffield (@jfwduffield) reported@johnlbirch Indeed. Becoming utterly dependent on one broadcaster is just terrible business. Even worse when Sky Sports is wedded to a dying & technically outmoded business model. Cricket poses difficulties to FTA broadcasters but with Freeview they now all have multiple channels to show it.
