@soupyferns This generation have never had to sit up waiting for the 10 minute freeview, and it shows.

@BBCLookEast With landlines becoming broadband only, and Freely starting to replace Freeview we are becoming 100% dependent on broadband. That has dangerous implications for resilence if broadband goes down, or worse if you never had adequate broadband at all.

@cmairsy @virginmedia Zen for internet - rock solid and great customer service, not that you’ll need it. But after ditching Virgin we went down the freeview route, I’m afraid.

@Luke_Jahn_ I am wondering how prepared you are for prison life. internet access is strictly limited. In cell tv is basic Freeview. That does include Channel 4 so Naked Attraction can help while away the lonely evenings.

@GBNEWS Problem is Freely isn't free.... You need a broadband connection costing you tens of pounds per month. Where as Freeview and Freesat are actually free to view.

That's 80s was a 24-hour music television channel from That's TV that played 1980s music hits. It closed its linear broadcast on Sky and Freeview on February 28, 2026, but continues as a streaming service on FAST platforms like Rakuten TV and Pluto TV

@RightSide_Uk @GBNEWS It's the signal πŸ“‘ it happens to me all the time and I've got Sky...so I switch to Freeview and it seems to be abit better.

  • Doub1eHelix

@jamzefish @BBCNews Ok, I get that you're talking about unencrypted satellite signals, but these can be controlled. Everyone will have to login to iPlayer for BBC content with some programs requiring a paid subscription. Freeview channels should remain viewable without need for a TV licence.

@bmstewart2004 My mother had Sky since 1997, they kept hiking the price -nothing extra. She was paying Β£55 p/m for basic TV, most is free on Freeview. She cancelled. Suddenly they could slash the price. She said no β€” should’ve offered that before. Absolute con merchants. Never trust Sky.

@RITB_ All part of their plan to dump freeview and make us all need ID to go online. The BBC is a trustworthy news service? Don't make me laugh.
