ππ³ππAdyπ€ (@AdyG28) reported@LBC It's the 21st century, if we are to be forced to pay the BBC so that we can watch 'Freeview' TV or any other tv for that matter, it should only be a news & education, perhaps local radio service. It should be at most half the cost of a weeks unemployment benefit (Β£40 ish?).
-
Gina, Moona & Jet (@Gina_Moona) reported@Florenc00526929 We only have freeview but the TV transmitter burnt down Aug 21 and now the signal is very sketchy not due to be replaced until Aug 23 π
-
Chris (@carmadchris) reported from Hazlemere, England@LlamaBusiness @skytv Bailed on them last year, never looked back Unless you live in the sports channels, look at what you get for your Β£, then see what would be free on freeview/freesat & what is on other services like Netflix
-
Paul Carmichael (@PCarmichaelVO) reported@brownboots23 @stevehemsley @NadineDorries So how do we provide such things as disability programming, Welsh language broadcasting, maintain the Freeview transmitter network (used largely by the elderly and poor) and provide educational resources? These donβt generate profit. Ready when you are.
-
IreFilledMonkey (@FilledIre) reported@mrjamesob The entire freeview system, built and maintained by the BBC. The radio we listen to all over the world, Parts of the emergency broadcast system. The massive international footprint made by the BBC, creating huge goodwill for Britian. All destroyed because of these petulant liars.
-
Paul Carmichael (@PCarmichaelVO) reported@PumaBare How do the elderly access television when youβve removed the licence fee which pays for maintenance of the Freeview transmitter network, the most popular (and cheapest) way for the elderly to watch TV?
-
Post Brexit Foxy π¦ (@DeusFoxy) reported@PCarmichaelVO @NadineDorries There's plenty of companies out there. I see ads on some channels that aren't shown on ITV or Channel 4 or 5. Personally I'm for a hybrid model; ads on a skeleton Freeview service, with option of a paid sub on iPlayer for Premium and ad-free catch-up content.
-
al π» hbd cait! (@mergwaines) reported@jedijackles This will also mean the loss of a bunch of freeview channels that you get access to by buying a tv license and getting freeview with it, because they canβt be privatised in the same way, so that would also be really bad for the arts and culture sector :(
-
Luke Rackstraw (@LRackstraw) reported@williambecket @NadineDorries The cheapest Sky package I can find is Β£26 (which includes the "tax"-payer funded freeview service). Letting the BBC go commercial would mean that pensioners would save Β£13 a month but they wouldn't get any TV for that. So in effect you'd be doubling the cost for pensioners!

Becky (@bexbrfc) reported@grumpybrains BBC lancs on Freeview never has our match on and not sure I have an actual radio anymore so usually just watch scores coming in on BBC. Need a big performance after last week π
