  • KTCCLawson Miss Leading Herself, Katy Lawson (@KTCCLawson) reported from Renfrew, Scotland

TikTok's latest trend is based on Adult Swim and the channel titles or whatever and... I grew up with Freeview television. I have no idea what's going on. I'm so lost. This is nearly as bad as when I tried to watch Phineas & Ferb with people and had no idea what was happening.

  • _Ninji Ninji 🇪🇺🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🇬🇮 B L M / 1312 (@_Ninji) reported from Glasgow, Scotland

@ali_king Now I feel like I should check the 365 Travel channel on Freeview again to see if they’re still advertising cruises that never happened

  • GoldCascade Stuart (@GoldCascade) reported from Glasgow, Scotland

STV on sat 103 and on Freeview showing wrestling when it shd be Tour Highlights...WTF is going on....at least Eurosport is on later. #STV #tourdefrance

  • StMungo1 St Mungo (@StMungo1) reported from East Kilbride, Scotland

"this guy is so poor he lives on a diet of smack, ***** and pills and invites ******* back to his gaff for Freeview and Chill"

  • verflucht Mr A$AP Verflucht Esq. (@verflucht) reported from Paisley, Scotland

@SuperRetroid @jonesthescribe @MrTom Fair point. :) And in fairness, I have never had to use an internal Freeview in a telly in over 14 years. I always thought they'd use the aerial, not the leftover debris from Sky.

  • TravellingScot4 TravellingScotsman (@TravellingScot4) reported from Glasgow, Scotland

@nowtvhelp It’s ok they’ll tell to do the exact same things I’ve done already. It’s working now but for how long. And your live chat very rarely works. Or there’s a long wait to speak to someone. When the passes are finished I’ll just cancel and stick to freeview amazon prime and Netflix

  • Gus_preston Gus (@Gus_preston) reported

@Michael37822549 @ChrisMousse3 @JuliaHB1 So you're happy paying a licence fee if it gets spent on other things than just the BBC? What about the support of the Freeview network that allows free-to-air TV to he broadcast. Or the broadband roll-out. Or SC4? That's not a Welsh language station.

  • TrilbeeReviews MrTARDIS (@TrilbeeReviews) reported

@tTaseric The "enforcement" issue is astonishingly overblown. Also, you need the license to watch non-BBC channels but the license-fee also covers the maintaining and upkeep of Freeview services so those non-BBC channels can even be broadcast.

  • pjtobin00 Paddy (@pjtobin00) reported

@AudsDisease @SkyNews What about Freeview channels? The license fee also goes to maintaining the Freeview network

  • JezParton Jez Parton (@JezParton) reported

@mitchyj_ @sophielouisecc No it's not. It provides far more than ITV, for example. What funds the Freeview +transmission network (which many pensioners use to access TV). That's right, the BBC licence fee.

  • MattSnarky Meh.. (@MattSnarky) reported

@Scrumpydude1 @jamiebglover How do you think the broadcast network that Freeview runs on gets paid for? All those transmitters that still need to be operated and maintained?

  • Atkinson2Emma Emma Atkinson (@Atkinson2Emma) reported

@MartinSLewis Alternatives to the TV licence were looked at a few years ago. I was told Freeview will shut down in a few years. How would we handle a COVID outbreak without a national broadcaster and only Internet/Cable subs? What happens to the stuff BBC runs under the hood?

  • LinWilb northern lass (@LinWilb) reported

@rec777777 @SusanHu25307477 @NadineDorries Unfortunately it’s not straight forward. Anyone that uses Freeview (ITV - Ch4 etc ) it’s all accessible on the free to air model. BBCs WOKEness is coming from further down the line. Indoctrination at school and through University they take this on into the workplace

  • pjtobin00 Paddy (@pjtobin00) reported

@AudsDisease @SkyNews Do you listen to the radio? Or perhaps watch Freeview? The BBC help maintain the Freeview network.

  • MarkFCooke Mark Cooke (@MarkFCooke) reported

@FunkyA1ien @boxinglyf @GaryLineker Because you're not paying for the BBC, you're a lot of the money goes to the network and various other things, including Freeview, Freesat and the UK broadband network. You can watch ITV and Channel4 on their on Demand services without a TV licence. And it's still a choice.

  • Gus_preston Gus (@Gus_preston) reported

@BillboBilleric1 @alr6872 @mrdanwalker You consume nothing at all that is funded from the BBC? Never watch or listen to them Never use their websites Never use broadband Don't use Freeview or Freesat. But even if true, yes I do, as a society we all have to fund things we don't use directly.
