@bowlestrek Get your facts straight. Johnson is not in favour of ditching the license fee, as he knows it’s a massive vote loser. Plus they’ve now realised, they can’t go to subscription fee system, as the freeview boxes that the majority of UK households use, don’t support it.

@pipmadeley I've got the same problem. On the backup freeview aerial so it's not urgent to fix. Local firm I queried with is callout at £50 to cover for up to an hour. Parts and repair £20 on top. If it's a long job you could be looking at £100+.

@FoggWee This is true Yesterday morning flicked across to the TalkingPictures TV Channel 82 freeview Anyway short film about centre of London from 1935!!! and Westminster was covered in Scaffolding I thought that's not bad 87 Years later nothing has changed
-
UK Urbanite (@UKurbanite) reported
@DefundBBC The problem with a subscription service, it that it needs subscription hardware. When Freeview first appeared, receivers often included a card slot, allowing encrypted channels to be decoded. If similar functionality still exists, I've seen no sign of it.
