@Webbo2306 I’ve sorted it. Didn’t pay for HD as most Freeview channels are already in HD. It’s just the Sky channels that you have to pay for and I don’t really watch them much. Works out I’m paying £15 a month extra on my internet, so not bad. 👍🏻

@MisterVivian @cleanfeed_ttvr Saorview uses DVB-T / MPEG4, so it's the other way around. MPEG4 actually allows broadcasters to fit more channels on a multiplex. As a result, Sky News at 704x576 can be done at similar bitrates as a 544x576 service on UK Freeview. You may remember Sky once wanted to launch...

@ImagesZx It seems to rely on what the definition of live TV. If a live program is available on Freeview, Cable TV or Sky (or any related streaming service) then that requires a license. You need fire example a license to watch Sky News live on YouTube. (1/2)

So much for the upgrade on signal from shiteview, the BBC channels (only channel we got after 'upgrade') aren't picking up a signal at all. Would be angry but given it's only BBC channels it's actually the small silver lining in the ongoing incompetentcy by #Freeview

@ScottsRadioSite @BBC_Cumbria True but so does 5G and if we going to update infrastructures it's best to do it same time rather than one after another so they could do that and sort freeview out and roll out better public and private Internet. It shouldn't be patchy network like on a train.
