Plus they’ve now realised, they can’t go to subscription fee system, as the freeview boxes that the majority of UK households use, don’t support it.

IronWorks1990 (@IronWorks1990) reported@dskiuk2 @Danrocsky76 @cordbusters I went Paris last year and our tv where we stayed was through through aerial, 50 odd channels and every single one of the was HD. Freeview now is terrible in 2026, full of shovelware channels and hardly any HD channels, SD channels look awful as well.

sci (@SimonHayterUK) reported@2810jeremy @BROKENBRITAIN0 It's not the TV set we pay a license for here in the UK, it's any broadcast, BBC, ITV, CH4, CH5 and Freeview, including on-demand BBC iPlayer. You do not need a license to play games, dvds, most of netflix prime etc, that's why so many are cancelling it, we are paying for ****.

Trish Macfarlane 🏴🏴 (@TrishMacf) reported@DarranPearce @DJL78 Instead the BBC flood the screens with antiques, quizzes, property programmes and we don't have a choice as to whether to pay the licence fee or not! Call me old-fashioned, but TV was much better years ago and most of the Freeview channels are sheer crap!
