@bowlestrek Get your facts straight. Johnson is not in favour of ditching the license fee, as he knows it’s a massive vote loser. Plus they’ve now realised, they can’t go to subscription fee system, as the freeview boxes that the majority of UK households use, don’t support it.

@reece_dinsdale @waynefoy @virginmedia Try message them on twitter they seem to get back to you quicker on social media .i stayed loyal to virgin for many years until the freeview episode when I changed to @SkyHelpTeam was so glad I did and it was cheaper by a lot virgin have no loyalty dad having same problem now x

@googlenesthelp Hey Google... No, nothing like that at all. Just an old (Humax) Freeview recorder, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and a (non-smart) Panasonic blu-ray player. All powered off at time of issue. Couple of other people raised it as issue a few days ago on the Google TV forum also.

Would be cool if @vodafoneNZ did a software update on the VodafoneTV units just prior to them being **** down that turned them into an untethered Freeview/internet TV hub.

@petemorristwit I still have the same issue with Freeview. At least with analogue you could receive a poor signal instead of one that breaks up completely. I'm so glad we have a satellite dish now.

@FreeviewAdvice Their helpline guy said that the issue might be with Freeview and that the mast was secure. I can get Free view from Eston Nab. Please between you get it sorted.

Wait. I've been talking to workmates, & it turns out that people who don't have vodafoneTV (RIP) or old mysky: (a) watch freeview LIVE with ADVERTS (wtf) (b) or ONLY watch things on streaming (c) and just accept they can't record+rewind TV (d) use an aerial or sat dish. REALLY?

The 80m temporary mast at Bilsdale has blown down. So no @Freeview. We did tell them it gets windy up there.

@WesleyDolan i like to pore over all the tv film guides in detail, see what's on saorview, what's on freeview, what's on channels i have to tune in, the itvs, channel4s, channel5s, then finally switch on the tv to where blazing saddles has been on for 10 minutes and flop down in front of that

With Virgin TV being down for last few days I must say I know people need internet but why anyone pays for TV (Virgin or Sky) is beyond me. More than enough on Freeview (inc plenty of cr@p). If you want sport/films just subscribe to NOW TV and dip in and out as you want.

@AtcherleyONS I’m not a Netflixer (or a Disney Channeller, etc,…) so will have to wait till it reappears on Freeview or treat myself to the dvd. I had IMDB open while I watched :-D.
