@bowlestrek Get your facts straight. Johnson is not in favour of ditching the license fee, as he knows it’s a massive vote loser. Plus they’ve now realised, they can’t go to subscription fee system, as the freeview boxes that the majority of UK households use, don’t support it.

@alunsays @EnglandRugby Not in HD on Freeview. For a premium match it's a poor effort from ITV, like watching TV in the 90s...

@langerz10 @connor_naismith I’ll be honest I typed that whilst chopping some salad and I don’t think I even know what I meant by **** all happened. I think my main point is Crewe fans have rarely contributed to radio Stoke when they’ve been on other frequencies. Why is freeview so bad?

With Freeview, if your WiFi went down, you could still watch TV. With Freely, this isn't the case. It's horrendous. Maybe I'm imagining things? I wish I was.

@RhianReads1 @richardosman On my Freeview box it is easy. Just ignore the channel buttons and go down to categories, then click on sport. All the choices come up there.

@iggy1966 @BENEFITS_NEWS They don't really, Chris... However the 'Freely' service currently being touted to replace Freeview in about 15 years time IS a streamed service which WILL be available via set top boxes/inbuilt IP provision in TV sets and probably an 'App'.

@BritishComedy One more **** feminist's comedy for the Freeview telly dustbin.

@WhichUK For live events, internet speed isn’t everything. For reliability/lowest delay, broadcast still wins: Freeview/satellite first, then cable/TV provider. Fibre streaming is great, but usually behind “live”. 5G/4G/Starlink can work well, but depend more on signal, congestion and load.

@TimFost2561 So if you cancel the license, you also can't access other freeview stuff, or am I completely off-base there?

  • jonsmithUC
    Jon Smith (@jonsmithUC) reported

@RidgeandFrost @WilfredFrost Once Freeview is turned off by this Government, ITV under American ownership will be a subscription model streaming service.

  • Matt_Q_OnX
Matt Quinn - The Caledonian Television Company. (@Matt_Q_OnX) reported

@BENEFITS_NEWS Well for a start the Freeview service is guaranteed until at least 2034 and likely to be phased out over a period of time; unlikely before about 2040. 'Freely' is currently being touted as the IPTV replacement - From about £70 for a set-top box; this price will drop dramatically.
