Nooooo just lost our TV signal in the middle of @TheRepairShop Christmas programme. Freeview signal out across much of Cambs but until this minute we'd been ok. Thank heavens for iPlayer so we can see the rest later.

  • Lord_Drainlid Mick Brown (@Lord_Drainlid) reported from Cambridgeshire, England

@MrCoolHandLuke @PairoMayniaq @Telegraph Much of the country can't and will never get Freeview or full fibre broadband. In future it will be the same with 4G and 5G and whatever comes next.

@rtenews Plenty of alternative channels on the UK freeview service, for anyone who's not interested.

  • OmieAKA Omie (@OmieAKA) reported

@BrixtonBobbyBob @mandapen Yes. Channel 4 or any of the other Freeview channels people never bother watching. Yes , it sucks that favourite shows were cancelled for the night but folk who say there was nothing else on TV are employing hyperbole.

  • LiamJones396 Liam Jones (@LiamJones396) reported

On my holiday freeview experience, watching Taskmaster. UK TV isn’t doomed, good ****

  • NNickcot Nick Cotterill (@NNickcot) reported

@Sotlive No, on freeview there are hundreds of channels for people to pick. If they subscribe to a TV service, even more. It's not like people didn't have a choice to watch it or turn over.

  • FNeedeth Fred Needeth (@FNeedeth) reported

@Jake_Kanter @OwenJones84 Wow, I feel for people like you who can't afford cable, imagine just having channel 1,2,3,4 and 5. Did you know if you buy a digital ariel, freeview box or smart tv you can get loads of channels for free, might help with that pesky wall to wall coverage and give you an option?

  • jamespdrury James Drury (@jamespdrury) reported

@hmd_db @TraceyRBurns @michaeljswalker Can you not read? Having no internet is not a barrier to choice, nothing poor about it... No, I don’t mind, it’s their editorial choice and if I didn’t want to watch I could watch something else (I did, on Freeview, not streamed) have a fine evening, not watching the BBC ;)

  • beajayemac bruce macfarlane #RejoinEU A49 (@beajayemac) reported

@RichardPTh @martindvz No not at all. I've just scanned down all the FreeView channels and there were at least two which weren't featuring Nick the Greek.

  • GFan1969 Jim (@GFan1969) reported

@larmstrong98 @Kevin_Maguire I do NOT believe you do not have cable, SKY or Freeview, so you have plenty of channels to choose from. Have some damn respect!

  • vinceunlimited Vince (@vinceunlimited) reported

@jimwaterson At least iPlayer is broadcast via an App on my smart TV therefore gets broadcast as HD. Freeview cannot managed HD on any more than 5 channels and BBC4 ain't one of them. SD is visually poor in big flatscreens

  • ShowerAbsolute Absolute Shower (Will) (@ShowerAbsolute) reported

@olibradley @DAaronovitch @stephenpollard Except Channel 4, all the Freeview stations and every on demand service yes, and plenty of commercial radio stations.
