@BBCPhilipSim Maybe it's time to make BBC a commercial channel ie no licence. They can then raise income from advertising & charge for iplayer service (believe is being considered). That way no person would have a licence to pay & would only buy in other services they wanted above freeview

  • dilly_dot DIANE SAMUEL (@dilly_dot) reported from Bathgate, Scotland

@istanbulfiona @LesleyRiddoch Away down at Channel 82 on Freeview. Why not #BBCSCOTLAND

We have the BBC nations feed (high symbol rate) on here. It's obvious they've got their best (4k) cameras out today. Trouble is, it's gonna make every other programme tonight look like it was filmed on a 1970s 405 line plumbicon camera... Freeview will be like legovision.

@sophielouisecc I worked. I'm not celebrating. I've got financial problems of my own to be able to splurge on a celebration of a rich person which would them put profits into a supermarket who over charge on basic products. I'm quite happy watching Freeview on my TV with a cuppa.

@Ihatethisdumbf1 @RowdyRe80996794 @colinbrazierGBN BBC 1, 2, 3 Parliament, News, they still have both the ones you mentioned - they dropping because they are underfunded They built the freeview network - no business would have done that as it a public service

@RowdyRe80996794 @colinbrazierGBN Yeah - but only truly stupid UK people think it's just telly. BBC is state owned, so it's funded by a fee or a tax They have 6 channels of TV, countless radio stations inc Radio 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 - plus they run the the Freeview network that digital TV for aerials

  • HD2onPBdotcom Brian Corbett (@HD2onPBdotcom) reported

@rogermosey Work on the transmitter near Manchester in the last month means that ALL BBC transmissions - national radio, local radio, SD TV and HD TV have ceased here: I cannot receive about 30% of the Freeview channels I have been getting over the last 6+ years. And retuning doesn't help

  • Ihatethisdumbf1 Ihatethisdumbfuckinglogin (@Ihatethisdumbf1) reported

@Polly_Phluid @RowdyRe80996794 @colinbrazierGBN Lying again? I don't know why you bother when a 5 second Google search proves you are lying. The freeview network was built off the ITVdigital platform which was built by, you guessed it, ITV. The BBC didn't do squat.
