Fiona Collie (@tartan1314) reported from Bonnybridge, Scotland@BBCPhilipSim Maybe it's time to make BBC a commercial channel ie no licence. They can then raise income from advertising & charge for iplayer service (believe is being considered). That way no person would have a licence to pay & would only buy in other services they wanted above freeview
-
DIANE SAMUEL (@dilly_dot) reported from Bathgate, Scotland@istanbulfiona @LesleyRiddoch Away down at Channel 82 on Freeview. Why not #BBCSCOTLAND

-
Martin Clowes (@mclowes2308) reported@SophieRose19x @sophielouisecc Might come as a surprise but ITV, C4 & C5 have managed fine with no public money for over 60,40&25 years. All free, never mind other channels on freeview, you know they use this thing called advertising, which if the BBC is as popular as they make out will have plenty of offers
-
David Foxx (@thatfoxxybloke) reported@tomdesborough87 @Monkeymanb0b They don’t have too. They can remain on the freeview platform which has 4 stake holders. Losing one wouldn’t end the free service.
-
Craig Lester ADHD SEND Activist 🏴🇿🇦 (@Craig_ADHD) reported@LDNCalling The BBC maintains the Freeview network, they broadcast all over the world and their programming caters to all tastes. State Broadcasting have a mandate to provide service for free. The licence fee is only a part of the funding the BBC receives.
-
BAME in Wiltshire (@BameWiltshire) reported@bbchealth BBC could be a service reaching out 24/7 to include the people who work long, late hours and have poor access to the Internet. Instead we have a mental diet of murder killings and sad repeats. Freeview is failing in its remit to educate and inform. You could have an NHS channel?
-
Freeview (@FreeviewTV) reported@Ojosblue Hi, I am sorry to hear that you are having issues with your Freeview reception. So we can look into this for you, can you please provide your postcode and house name or number? Thanks, Dylan
-
Sigmundo (@Bob_Bobson66) reported@MattHuismanNZ @Orcon Scratch that, Freeview working now, just the other that isn't. Thanks for your help @MattHuismanNZ
-
Gerald Smith 🤢 (@Takethatjoe) reported@HarrietSergeant @darrengrimes_ What’s your solution? Obviously advertising is out of the question and it has to be kept on freeview to allow accessibility for all, so what do you propose?
-
Joseph benson (@Benson40Joseph) reported@tonypatt2000 Not wanting to help them, just destroy everything around them & reduce their freeview content by destroying what they, the gov,t, can,t fully control. The wrinkly dorries is spinning it to try to appeal to the meakest for her own govt,s gain, shameful.

Emma T (@ETusty) reportedWe have freeview signal this evening. Yay. The only downside is that when there's no signal I get to control the remote and choose the channel because the OH has no idea how to get on iplayer, netflix or prime. He'd spend about an hour just finding something to watch

Matt Jenkins (@Matt_1269501) reported@davidholtactor Well a licence isn't needed for radio, so if I paid 43p a day, that would be for half a dozen channels I never watch. The other 60 or so channels on Freeview are, erm ABSOLUTELY FREE. But cannot lawfully watch those, without funding the BBC!
