@NM_Rdg @Jim_Cornelius @NadineDorries Yes but Freeview got its programme feed via satellite and that was shut down by the EU at about 4.45pm. This is why Freeview is now showing the ‘not available’ message.

@paganpirate @JR66112852 RT is down on UK Freeview, sky and BT channels, not just YT

@scottygb @FloraCarmichael @alistaircoleman Freeview feed seemed to get to Aqiva via the Hotbird satellite, since RT on freeview went down when that feed was cut, as opposed to when the Astra 2 satellite (carrying sky/freesat’s feed) dropped it.

@Dan_Dawson65 @graeme_from_IT Not local Freeview channels. They're not classed public service broadcasters. Content is not regulated in the same way. Broadcasting Scotland news content already exceed ofcom standards incidentally.

@andyarmit @goddersbloom It's now gone from Freeview, I expect it was taking its feed from the Astra satellite signal.

@Otto_English @fascinatorfun It's only gone because of the EU ban. That meant the feed to the satellite (from which Freeview take the service) was shut down.

Has Freeview 'pulled' or removed RT? Technically no. What has happened today is that the feed of the channel has been cut. The black 'service unavailable' message kicks in when the channel feed is lost (has happened before on other channels). (1)
