@crusaders1898 @andrewhdonohoe @Saraita101 No because it's called Saorview here, uses slightly different technology and doesn't carry BBC channels, only RTÉ and a few other domestic channels. Freeview, the UK system, is available in border areas where the signal leaks over the border, impossible to change.

@Adam373032869 I like it sometimes but the picture quality on freeview is very poor for some reason, almost like its underpowered.

@genetis Here’s my random selection: Cheese grater (satisfying, until … grated finger nail and gristle). Open fire (evolutionarily enjoyable, but … ow, burning!). Freeview TV Guide (more a UX thing, but … it will never load when I’m in a hurry).

@SteveWalesPhoto @StansaidAirport @DavidBflower That's modern technogy, we still have our Baird 405 line set with those spindly screw in legs. Problem is reception of Freesat / Freeview is frankly rubbish. But we like that screensaver when we turn off at night. This fading dot - riveting.

@bad1ands True but I don't think the UK Gov would want to do that as it's too costly. What if mobile network went down? There has to be other ways here. Even if there's emergency broadcast masts put up that transmit on everything. VHF, UHF, Freeview, Freesat, Sky, Cable, etc.
