A FOI request detailing how network coverage map data is recorded, updated, and published would be interesting to see. It seems to be very different from reality.

Are you aware that Tesco and Giffgaff both use the O2 network and therefore their performance should be no different? Also, Three and Vodafone customers can now use each others network since they were merged

I was with giffgaff, an mvno on the O2 network, for a lil while before switching to Smarty (on 3). And literally night and day difference. Its subjective though. A GiffGaff SIM worked fine and the speed and lack of hassle with which you refunded the roaming charges was v suspicious. I would never trust you again.
