@HSBC_UK The number you provided in the tweet, I spoke to a operators then they transfer me - I get cut off at that point but I did successfully get through to fraud dept once, apparently it was the wrong fraud for him then he cut me off! Top service lads

@wmarybeard @HSBC_UK I swapped to First Direct as a result of HSBC's customer service. It's beyond hopeless. And while FD is part of the HSBC group you get to speak to an actual person in mere seconds!

@HSBC_UK Trying to help Mom—deaf non-app user—make online payments. We went into branch weeks ago. Staff said they’d arrange for card reader to be posted to her. Hasn’t arrived. How do we chase? Mom deaf so can’t use phone. No-one will talk to me as I’m not your customer.

@wmarybeard @HSBC_UK Unfortunately the banks, telecoms companies, etc, force you to go down this route and mostly it results in a terrible level of service with customers becoming very frustrated. It’s their way of “saving money” but in the end it’s just another way of companies not caring!

I dont suppose people are on baited breath re my @HSBC_UK foreign currency problems! But upshot is that after 2 hours on the phone, I still can't euros delivered satisfactorily, so the husband will go out to get it the old fashioned way. Pity, this has worked brilliantly before

@wmarybeard @HSBC_UK I've been 'stranded' abroad by Covid since 2019. I have been able to use my Halifax Clarity creditcard for most purchases without any problems. If I want local currency I can withdraw that from any ATM with my HSBC UK Bank debitcard.

@wmarybeard @HSBC_UK I had the same conversation (much of it the identical script) with HSBC three times last week. All so I could move my money (also first world problem). I get that security is important, but all smacks of over-zealous slamming, long after the horse is over the horizon.

@HSBC_UK when will you fix your app so that it works with iOS 16 beta? All my other apps including banking apps work!
