Tonight I’d like to thank @Morrisons and @HSBC_UK for ruining my evening! Issues with paying at petrol pump led to my card being declined. Then I had to hang around the forecourt for an hour to get through HSBC customer services to unblock my card. Rant done! 🤬

@HSBC_UK Tomorrow is VAT return deadline. Your customers need access to their online accounts to retrieve statements. You keep pushing paperless banking, well and good but you need to ensure your systems work 24/7. Get on it please and update here and on your website.

@simonnread I get cash donations from people using my boat and spend what I get on fuel and provisions. Anything over or under £50 goes to/from Post Office who - as @HSBC_UK will not help with my @firstdirect account, are my new day to day bankers (first time since when I was 9)

@HSBC_UK The app only stops working because you’ve programmed it to do so. All my other banking apps work flawlessly. Just annoying. It’s a secondary account so I’ll put up with it til September but you need to realise millions test these new updates every year so makes no sense to block
