Don’t you love it when your bank can just turn off your access to your own money because you weren’t able to sit on hold for longer than 3 hours whilst abroad for work? @HSBC_UK your fraud dept need to modernise and get on chat. Increasing interest rates finally might help too!

@HSBC_UK absolutely insane support pages and contact number. Account opened, money transferred, card received BUT NO TELEPHONE SECURITY NUMBER and no way to contact HSBC to get it. Not impressed and unless sorted within next two days will close the account

@StewartMitchell @HSBC_UK It's probably just one of many factors that on their own would not cause a failure to login/use the account, but if enough of these fail then there is a good chance something dodgy going on and they would like to ask for further checks or manually verify it's the account holder

@HSBC_UK I am thinking of nominating you for a poor customer service award. It appears that you are intent on making simple things as difficult as possible. After a 45 minute wait on the phone last night disconnected, customer service says “computer says no” & chat doesn’t work
