@HSBC_UK Given you are one of the largest financial organisations in the world, waiting 25 mins on your “customer care” line is atrocious. No wonder people are flocking to Monzo or Revolut.

@wmarybeard @HSBC_UK This is the trouble with some banks today - the tech fails and there's few, if any, people to help. My local branch always has a queue as the machines fail, or people can't use them, and someone has to come and help.

  • MLawsonDesign Mark Lawson Design (@MLawsonDesign) reported

@wmarybeard @HSBC_UK Try a new bank or building society. Nationwide are good. Or if you’re app minded Starling are excellent. Or you could kind of improve customer service and stay within ‘HSBC’ but switch to First Direct who also rate highly on customer service (compared to HSBC).

@wmarybeard @HSBC_UK I contacted a well known bank 2 report live case of fraud. Iike talking 2 brick wall 4 all the good they did. “We are not aware of a problem..” “ I’ve just reported it to you!!!!” Nothing, nada. Account was open to fraud over night and only closed when I went to the branch!

I dont suppose people are on baited breath re my @HSBC_UK foreign currency problems! But upshot is that after 2 hours on the phone, I still can't euros delivered satisfactorily, so the husband will go out to get it the old fashioned way. Pity, this has worked brilliantly before

  • MeliorateH M L 💙 (@MeliorateH) reported

@wmarybeard @HSBC_UK I had the same conversation (much of it the identical script) with HSBC three times last week. All so I could move my money (also first world problem). I get that security is important, but all smacks of over-zealous slamming, long after the horse is over the horizon.

@davidcoates33 @HSBC_UK All the probably very nice people on the phone lines kept saying, 'I realise that you are frustrated'.. at one point I did (calmly I hope) say that being told that I was frustrated didnt actually help much!

  • davidcoates33 davidc333 (@davidcoates33) reported

@wmarybeard @HSBC_UK Unfortunately the banks, telecoms companies, etc, force you to go down this route and mostly it results in a terrible level of service with customers becoming very frustrated. It’s their way of “saving money” but in the end it’s just another way of companies not caring!

@wmarybeard @HSBC_UK My husband opened his account at @RBS in 1966. I think they only have bots working for them now. Used to be great but now under the mattress would at least be contactable.

  • propertywords Sharon Dale (@propertywords) reported

@wmarybeard @HSBC_UK I feel your pain. I’ve given up asking for help

  • vvheye Veronica van Heyningen 💙🇪🇺🌹🇺🇦 (@vvheye) reported

@wmarybeard @HSBC_UK Yes, you are right. Getting to the post office can be impossible to fit in.
