People in Shotton Colliery near Peterlee tell ITV Tyne Tees they heard a loud ‘bang’ that they thought may have been a car crash as a parachutist landed on the roof of a house this afternoon. The man was airlifted to hospital with serious injuries.

Part of the issue is that a lot of people have a problem with cruelty affecting certain species but couldn’t care less about others. That really needs to change. @ITV please give #maternal another go! I loved it & it got good reviews. But not enough viewers?? Perhaps the title put people off - totally misleading, conjuring visions of leaky *******…Focus was actually misogyny and women at work. Rename it, rebrand it and bring it back!
