    BREAKING: UK telecom regulator Ofcom confirms Starlink is a viable broadband alternative under the UK’s 10 Mbps Broadband USO rules. 🇬🇧 • Ofcom confirmed this directly to UK broadband publication ISPreview. • This means that if affordable Starlink service is available at a property, it may no longer qualify for a USO connection from BT or KCOM. • Some applicants have already been refused a USO connection because Starlink was available. • Back in May, Ofcom said cheaper Starlink plans helped reduce the number of premises without affordable decent broadband to around 4,000. This is good news for Starlink, giving it stronger recognition from the UK regulator as a real broadband solution for remote and underserved areas.

    @KCOMcare Disgusted with poor kcom broadband at HU7 since Wednesday. Paying £55.99 for full fibre 400 and have just 5-25Mbps it’s feels like KCOM gave me middle finger... fat rats

    @peter_levy If KCOM let the other companies share the network under PIA agreement like BT do there would be no need for more poles and digging the streets up

According to UK broadband outlet ISPreview, homes with access to an affordable Starlink plan may no longer be eligible for a USO broadband connection through BT or KCOM. Reports indicate that some applicants have already had their USO requests denied because Starlink service was available at their address. Earlier this year, Ofcom also noted that the introduction of lower-cost Starlink plans helped reduce the number of UK properties without access to affordable, decent broadband to roughly 4,000.     @KCOM as large areas of Hull are without internet, at what point do consider your customers? Give us an update and likely timeframe. There are businesses and customers working from home. Don't treat us like crap cos we will walk.

    @KCOMhome appalling connection at HU17 all day, we have a smart wifi booster and that is of no help whatsoever. In our last home we had PlusNet and never had an issue in 10 years, KCOM aren’t performing well tbh, we rely on wifi more than ever as many work from home.

    @peter_levy Bt have to let other companies use there network so why are KCOM being like this . This will give people more Choices on who will provide there services
