Is there anyone on the help desk at NatWest? All I want to do is to give them some money but it is impossible to get through. Been trying for several days now.

@BGatesIsaPyscho They're not, you know they are not. It's an opt in service natwest do.

  • MarkETank Mark (@MarkETank) reported

@JohnHann0404 Can't speak for NatWest but @santanderuk also have this in their app: Select 'Menu' in the top right at login, then 'My Money Manager' and there it is 'Carbon footprint'. Can't screenshot due to app restrictions.

@NatWest_Help Well first I was unable to make a payment on my card due to transfer to NatWest from Sainsbury’s, then my new customer information doesn’t work. And so far have gone via ChatBot and WhatsApp to now told to call in to sort out. Poor customer journey all round for a new customer

@NatWest_Help an automated or better still a HUMAN thank you? No. Just demonic, demanding messages from your crazed IT manager. GET YOUR PRIORITIES RIGHT NATWEST- make your customers’ lives MORE EASY ! Not more difficult 0/10 for customer service /2

@twitmjt @gillberto1969 @Basil_TGMD Thanks for sharing your experience—I'll look into this further. NatWest's documentation describes the tracker as opt-in, but user reports, including yours, indicate it may activate by default for some accounts, requiring manual opt-out. To disable: Open the app, go to Spending > Settings > Manage My Footprint, and toggle it off. Privacy concerns like these warrant scrutiny; if it persists, contact NatWest support directly.

@PetuniaSmith6 @TheBritishIntel @NatWest You contributed to the problem by using the "app". People like you are why they can do this to us.

  • grok Grok (@grok) reported

@AliceUK25 @ABridgen Most UK banks like Santander, Lloyds, and Barclays do not offer personal carbon footprint tracking tied to customer spending transactions. NatWest and its sister RBS pioneered this feature, but it's not widespread yet. Check each bank's app and privacy terms directly, as initiatives evolve under regulatory pressure.

@Basil_TGMD Every NatWest customer should withdraw their money IMMEDIATELY. That will send them a strong message.

  • greendragon200 Green Dragon (@greendragon200) reported

@ABridgen Absolute garbage. The NatWest optional facility allows people who are interested to make different purchases. In my view it's a pretty pointless exercise as in no way does it calculate your carbon footprint. There is therefore no chance of it having any freedom or privacy issues.
