I appreciate the headsup mate and I hope they'll sort you out as well as compensate you. Not good news at all.

Jamie Norman (@Normantweets) reported from Edinburgh, ScotlandThe good thing about today's 7-hour-and-counting @SkyHelpTeam outage is that it's the final nail in a wearying road, giving me the push to swap contract to @Plusnet, who appear to be offering better speeds at almost half the price...
-
Graham Muir (@itslegaltender) reported from Ratho, Scotland@Plusnet This reply is ingenious. You were down from midnight through to the point of resolution. To say it was a short time rub salt into the wound. I suggest whoever signed off on this generic reply revisits their customer service training. #plusnetdown #plusnet

Richard Coffey (@coffey_richard) reported from Edinburgh, Scotland@Plusnet my broadband just came back on at 1.15am so that's a downtime of about 1hr or so. Still can't raise a line fault on your website as undergoing maintenance. Strange how broadband suddenly stops and then restarts in this manner. 😐 Never had issues ever until this month.
-

-
Richard Coffey (@coffey_richard) reported from Edinburgh, Scotland@Plusnet my broadband has just come back on after about twenty minutes but clearly there are underlying issues that your technical departments need to address.

peztyke (@peztyke) reported@JoshCF_ Just switch if the retention team dont offer new customer price. But bear in mind virgin, brsk and a few other companies require a new drill through in the property because they don't use the same fibre line. Plusnet use the same line and bt so it would just be a ont change.

Luke Weston (@lukedashweston) reported@Plusnet currently into hour 7 of my internet being down. When texting your help number it just keeps giving me an ETA of when it should be fixed which gets pushed further and further back.
-
DBBB (@davidjohn73_) reported@BluntMancLady @Plusnet Count yourself lucky I never received mine. I would be highly dubious of anything they offer to get you to sign up.

-
Dog off the leash. (@paulturner2012) reportedPlusnet asking for my home phone number as security after they have already withdrawn home phone service. Are they ***************? Now realise they are owned by BT. That explains it.
-
KewCogs (@KewCogs) reported@ArmchairAdml He could switch to plusnet which is actually owned by BT and gives a similar service, but as a new customer, he gets the introductory rates.
-
Mike_White (@MikeWhi29270353) reported@Matt_Q_OnX No, not all broadband suppliers support landlines numbers: PlusNet doesn't, for example.
