Artur Nadolny (@ArturNadol7566) reportedPOST OFFICE JAILED AN INNOCENT WOMAN Imagine. You run a small @PostOffice in Hull. You show up every day, you serve your community, you do the job. Then one day a computer program called Horizon decides you owe £59,000 that never existed. A computer program with a known glitch problem. Post Office didn't check the software. It just marched Janet Skinner into court in 2007 and got her jailed for 9 months. She served 2 behind bars. She lost her house. She lost her job. She lost her name in the eyes of her own neighbours, all because nobody in a position of power fancied questioning a machine. Here's where any decent organisation would stop digging the hole ... The Post Office kept digging. A year after she walked out of prison, they hauled her back into court again, this time chasing her for "proceeds of crime." Proceeds of a crime she never committed, calculated by a system that couldn't add up in the first place. Bold strategy from the people who broke the calculator in the first place. Less than two weeks after that fresh nightmare finally ended, Janet's body gave out completely. Neurological collapse. Paralysed from the neck down. Doctors told her she'd never walk again. She spent a year in a wheelchair and two years learning to walk. She says her own immune system turned on her. Years of fighting a system that refused to admit fault, and in the end it was her own body that surrendered first. So how does this story end? With an apology? A cheque that actually matches what she lost? Of course not. In 2025, after everything, the compensation scheme handed her an offer worth around 15% of her claim. Janet called it an insult. I'd call it a joke, except nobody's laughing, least of all the people who wrote the offer letter from the comfort of a job that still exists. 9 months in prison for a bug. 2 years in a wheelchair for the stress of proving her innocence. A payout that wouldn't cover the damage to her health, let alone her life. And somewhere, the people who signed off on her prosecution are still drawing a pension. This is not a scandal that happened once. It is a system that keeps happening, on repeat, to real people, while everyone responsible gets to retire quietly. Nobody who signed off on any of this has lost a house, a job, or a night's sleep. They got promotions. She got a wheelchair and an insulting cheque. Accountability had every chance to show up here and chose not to.. SOURCES @BBCNews @itvnews and others.

Elaine Chapman (@ElaineC_reviews) reported@PostOffice your customer services are appalling. Your over the counter member of staff inputted the wrong name from my daughters passport and now she is abroad with a PO currency card she can't access and useless emails back and forth not accepting her passport information!

Waltlou Propane Gas (@Waltlou) reported@VaNewsVanguard Our bank told us not to send checks in via mail, and not to expect invoices or bills via mail. They told us the intrusion was from postoffice workers stealing mail, as well as extremely poor work practices. We support Virginia, but when is Virginia going to clean up the Post Office?

Artur Nadolny (@ArturNadol7566) reportedAT 93 BETTY BROWN IS STILL FIGHTING Betty Brown just turned 93 and picked up an OBE from King Charles at Windsor Castle. Lovely photo. Lovely medal on a lovely jacket. What she still does not have, six months after settling her claim, is a single penny of the compensation she was promised. Betty and her late husband Oswall ran the Annfield Plain Post Office in County Durham from 1985 to 2003. The Horizon accounting system built by Fujitsu @fujitsu_uk told them money was missing from their branch. It was not missing. It was never missing. They spent around 100,000 pounds of their own savings covering shortfalls that did not exist, because that is apparently the correct response when a computer accuses you and nobody in charge believes the human standing in front of it. She is thought to be the oldest surviving victim of the Horizon scandal. She was one of the original 555 claimants who backed Alan Bates in the group legal action against the Post Office @PostOffice. She reached a settlement through the government redress scheme at the end of last year. At her OBE investiture in June she said she still had not received a penny. Meanwhile Fujitsu, the company whose faulty software caused this entire catastrophe, has been criticised by a committee of MPs for contributing nothing financially toward the redress bill, which is running toward 2 billion pounds. The company that broke the till keeps its money. The 93 year old it falsely accused of stealing from that till gets a medal instead of a bank transfer. She dedicated her OBE to the sub-postmasters who never lived to see this day. She has said before that at least 13 people are believed to have taken their own lives because of what Horizon did to them. She said she wears the honour for them because she still feels everything they felt. She also had a message for the Prime Minister @Keir_Starmer, asking him directly to sort this out as quickly as he can. That is a simple sentence. It appears to be an extremely difficult instruction to follow. Britain does love turning its victims into heroes once the damage is done and the bill has gone unpaid long enough to be embarrassing. Medals are cheap. Redress schemes, it turns out, are somehow still cheaper for the people who actually owe the money.

Simon (@LilywhiteSimon) reported@MarkSheppy67 @PostOffice @RoyalMail Zero point asking them on X though - their account is all automated; no replies to normal people. You’ll have to endure the nightmare of calling their customer services ~ 03457 740 740.
