@VodafoneUK @GeorgeMonbiot "Deepest condolences" but where are your profound apologies for the wholly unnecessary torture you have subjected George's father and wider family to? As said in this thread already, you need to publicly commit to ensuring this never happens again. We'll be waiting and watching!

  • JoanneC1963 Joanne C (@JoanneC1963) reported

@GeorgeMonbiot @VodafoneUK When my Dad died I took over speaking to the call handler because she just didn’t listen and kept asking Mum to put Dad on so they could speak to him. In the end I said “what part of dead don’t you get” I felt terrible for Mum.

  • Michell43749136 Milky🍃💚🍃 Save The Northern Meadows (@Michell43749136) reported from Cardiff, Wales

@VodafoneUK @GeorgeMonbiot Shame on you @VodafoneUK ! What a despicable way to treat grieving customers! Glad you’ve been outed i#now in this case!

  • IrishCarol05 IrishCarol💚 (@IrishCarol05) reported

@GeorgeMonbiot @VodafoneUK Had a similar issue with Sky a few years ago. They were charging my folks for ALL the channels/internet/phone. Acct in my mum's name. She had cancer and lost her voice. They wouldn't speak to my dad even when he explained why she was unable to speak.

  • mcneil_kl Kirsty 🇪🇺🇬🇧🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🌼🌻 (@mcneil_kl) reported

@GeorgeMonbiot @VodafoneUK It took me a year to finally be rid after my cancelled account was never fully cancelled adding a charge each month. Hours of calls every month until eventually I stopped trying, resulting in debt collectors who thankfully believed me & passed it back to Vodafone. Never again.

  • SueScarrott Susan Scarrott #3.5% 🇪🇺 (@SueScarrott) reported

@GeorgeMonbiot @VodafoneUK Not just Vodafone... when my father died I tried to cancel his home phone calls through the Post Office. They wrote to HIM to ask if I could act on his behalf 🙄

  • BenGrabham Ben Grabham (@BenGrabham) reported

@GeorgeMonbiot @VodafoneUK The ignoring of a legal Power of Attorney is surely something that @OFCOM should be all over - poor poor Governance

  • STKJohnboy john stokes (@STKJohnboy) reported

@GeorgeMonbiot @VodafoneUK I had the same problem with my mum and the Post Office landline. She was in a care home with dementia and the fkkrs would not budge. I had to get social services to write me a letter in the end.

  • winstoncigar winstoncigar QC, Bsc, VC & pin (@winstoncigar) reported

@VodafoneUK @speckyninja If it’s not an experience you want for your customers, how come so many have had it? I escaped some years back but even then your customer service was a sick joke and doesn’t appear to have improved since.

  • justmy2penneth Janitor (Airstrip One)⚖️♿ (@justmy2penneth) reported

@GeorgeMonbiot @VodafoneUK Every comment on this thread shows the contempt we are held in by these organisations. On the deaths of my parents I wrote a letter (remember them) as executor (with copy death cert.) to each one & stopped payments. I found I had few problems. Any that were I simply ignored.
