@GeorgeMonbiot @VodafoneUK Wouldn't touch @VodafoneUK with a barge pole anyway, but thanks for the heads-up. Customer service has to improve in this and other sectors. Name and shame is the only weapon we have as overlooked and exploited consumers.

@GeorgeMonbiot @KathyBurke @VodafoneUK Yep same thing happened when my mum passed away , even wanted to speak to her, as I wasn’t the account holder ,then my dad was getting letters addressed to her still demanding to pay a year later, ermmm slight issue with that happening

@FMHurley @GeorgeMonbiot @VodafoneUK sit in a dreary council office with my mother 3 days after she suddenly lost her partner of 50 years, answering stupid questions to get the certificates. Cancelling accounts was easy.

@VodafoneUK @GeorgeMonbiot They are the worst to get through to. The bot is useless and you wait hours on the phone. I received a debt email, referring to previous letters - of which I’d received none. Terrifying. Spent a day on the phone trying to understand what happened

@GeorgeMonbiot @VodafoneUK Faceless society at its worst. Sorry about your Mum too

@GeorgeMonbiot @KathyBurke @VodafoneUK All companies should have a good department to assist following bereavement, sadly they don’t when my husband died being asked to guess passwords or memorable info for someone else is just awful. Sorry for your loss and I hope you get sorted

@VodafoneUK I managed to leave Vodaphone but they cancelled my account and I can't use Tobi or put my username or password in and staff were extremely rude to be too. So it seems I can't get back the Β£30 they owe me, robbers!

  • Paullup76
    ListenToYourself (@Paullup76) reported

@GeorgeMonbiot @VodafoneUK Sorry for your loss (and the hassle too). Growing up, I was always taught when dealing with the public, that the customer is always right (even if they’re not). Can’t remember the last time I felt like a valued customer anywhere these days.

@GeorgeMonbiot @KathyBurke @VodafoneUK How awful, so stressful. After my mum died the gym she went to refused to cancel her membership, fortunately it was a physical building where I was able to go to & make a scene so they relented. It makes an already difficult situation worse. I hope you can get it resolved soon.

@GeorgeMonbiot @VodafoneUK Once things go to a debt recovery agent it all gets very nasty. They reduced me to tears and I was a confident woman in my mid 40s (also not owing the money they were demanding). My heart goes out to your poor dad.
