For your info with regard to your issue - virgin media have just been fined Β£28m for preventing people ending their contracts. Perhaps talks to the culture internally that you are describing

Paul (@PaulRic71632112) reported@VodafoneUK I thought in this day and age you were supposed to give me notice of any increase in price. I had my new bill today and it has gone up. I wasn't aware of any in reasonable due. Also it has never happened at this time of the year.
