@maccaspacca1 @GeorgeMonbiot @VodafoneUK I agree with the sentiment of don't shoot the messenger. However, customer service agents are people, right? People generally have a level of respect and decorum when it comes to bereavement. If they are literally reading from a script then it might as well be a chat bot.

never told about and now behind, after HOURS and several days on the phone, We then started paying for it as they wouldn’t help. Now theyre not letting us again, every time we try to ring up,they’re rude and aggressive and try selling us something completely different. @VodafoneUK

@VodafoneUK @GeorgeMonbiot NO. DMs are not the answer. A working customer service team with sufficient people trained to correctly deal with customers' queries is the answer. And the excuse of "but Covid" is no longer acceptable. Deal with it now.

@GeorgeMonbiot @VodafoneUK I'm savvy and persistent enough to think I can sort most problems with incompetent phone and energy companies but I agree that it is vain to think that any one person can stand out against deliberate corporate fraud.

@GeorgeMonbiot @VodafoneUK We are so sorry for your father's terrible experience - companies like @VodafoneUK need to make sure they train their staff to help support bereaved customers. Many WAY Widowed and Young members have similar struggles when trying to close their loved one's various accounts 💙💔

@GeorgeMonbiot @VodafoneUK Oh wow. This is just an awful read because it's so unnecessary of Vodafone to treat people like this. Awful. I'm with Vodafone but shall leave when my contract is over.

@GeorgeMonbiot @VodafoneUK Vodafone, one of the worst and most stressful companies I have ever dealt with. Nearly took an ongoing complaint to ofcom a few years ago.

@GeorgeMonbiot @VodafoneUK This doesn’t compare to your awful situation but I left Vodaphone in 2005 when I received a bill for 700 pound (a lot to me at the time) for data despite having a data cap set. I was told on the phone no data cap had been set (despite previous reassurance). No option to challenge
