It makes me sad to hear @VodafoneUK adverts encouraging people to replace their iPhones every 12 months with a new one. Disgusting waste, #consumerism & planned-obsolesce. This isn’t going to help the #Environment or the world we leave behind for future generations!

@GeorgeMonbiot @davidcox65 @VodafoneUK British Gas & BT also like to ‘forget’ to ‘press the right button’ to cancel accounts when a loved one dies. It was the threat of a Debt Recovery letter that broke me following husband’s death despite hours spent cancelling accounts or changing account names. Your poor Dad.

@VodafoneUK @GeorgeMonbiot Why don’t you do something useful instead of requiring the customer to re-contact you, when they have already done so to no avail. Why is your customer service so poor in the first place?

@GeorgeMonbiot @VodafoneUK So sorry to hear of the loss of your mum and that this has happened George, what a terrible thing to experience whilst grieving.

@VodafoneUK What an utter fail is all I have to say to this. Deepest condolences heres a bot to speak to. The state of this, never been a Vodafone customer and will never be one after seeing this.

@VodafoneUK @GeorgeMonbiot For a communications company, you are exceptionally bad at communicating. This interaction shows repeated gross misunderstandings on your part, at best, or more likely toxic policies towards your customers.

@GeorgeMonbiot @VodafoneUK I work in customer services, when a customer contacts via live chat you are first met with a bot who directs you to the correct department. If you ‘click speak with advisor’ you are passed across to speak/chat with a live agent.

@IainTrundle @GeorgeMonbiot @VodafoneUK The concept of "customer service" is largely dead. It has been replaced by "extract as much as you can from the mugs and treat them like dirt". All "enhanced" by "how did we do" surveys....it's a disgusting farce and symptomatic of modern Britain.

@GeorgeMonbiot @timolarch @VodafoneUK My husband had the same problem with Virgin Media after the death of his father. He was given the number of the ‘bereavement department’ and he phoned, assuming they would help. Instead the woman demanded his father’s PIN and said only he could cancel!

@GeorgeMonbiot @ACoded_Word @VodafoneUK There’s a growing list of UK companies I’d never touch with a barge pole. British Gas included. Once hassled me for months despite not even being a customer (was with Npower) asking me to prove I owed nothing. Told them to suck it and sue me. They didn’t.
