It makes me sad to hear @VodafoneUK adverts encouraging people to replace their iPhones every 12 months with a new one. Disgusting waste, #consumerism & planned-obsolesce. This isn’t going to help the #Environment or the world we leave behind for future generations!

@GeorgeMonbiot @ACoded_Word @VodafoneUK There’s a growing list of UK companies I’d never touch with a barge pole. British Gas included. Once hassled me for months despite not even being a customer (was with Npower) asking me to prove I owed nothing. Told them to suck it and sue me. They didn’t.

  • GerBelch3 Geraldine Belcher (@GerBelch3) reported

@GeorgeMonbiot @davidcox65 @VodafoneUK British Gas & BT also like to ‘forget’ to ‘press the right button’ to cancel accounts when a loved one dies. It was the threat of a Debt Recovery letter that broke me following husband’s death despite hours spent cancelling accounts or changing account names. Your poor Dad.

  • pemlife Nicola (@pemlife) reported

@GeorgeMonbiot @VodafoneUK They missold a contract to my elderly Nan (cold called and sold her a data plan for a phone that has no internet capability) and wiped off the £40 she had as PAYG credit. Refused to cancel or refund. Had to get the ombudsman involved.

  • GrahamWise13 GreenerFutures 🇪🇺🇺🇦 (@GrahamWise13) reported

@GeorgeMonbiot @VodafoneUK Profits first, customer service last. Simple humanity nowhere in sight - hidebound by its own internal bureaucracy and ‘lean’ processes. That’s monolithic mega business for you. It’s the same everywhere. And it sucks.

  • nevisondave Dave Nevison (@nevisondave) reported

@Grant_Grieve13 @GeorgeMonbiot @VodafoneUK I had a similar drawn out issue about 10 years ago, vowed never to deal with Vodaphone again. Once you get away stay away.

  • ConradDeBurgh Conrad The NoToryious 🇪🇺🇮🇪🇬🇧🔶️💙🏴‍☠️ (@ConradDeBurgh) reported

@GeorgeMonbiot @TonyP12490831 @VodafoneUK I always send cancellation notices to the registered office of the company per Companies House by recorded delivery and then cancel the DD after the notice period.

  • calvin81009362 Major Lee Pistenko #WelshUkrainianDivision (@calvin81009362) reported

@VodafoneUK @GeorgeMonbiot We don't believe this opportunity to assist you qualifies for the real human interaction via a customer service assistant. Please contact BotSarah. You can find out how to do this by using Google. Have a great day and sorry your relative has died. Click. Brrrrrr.....

  • DaveGl1970 Indeeana Jones (@DaveGl1970) reported

@VodafoneUK @GeorgeMonbiot Putting a debt recovery agency onto a grieving widower, you are the worst.

  • Vdweller Vivienne 💙🧡🌻 (@Vdweller) reported from Southampton, England

@GeorgeMonbiot @timolarch @VodafoneUK My husband had the same problem with Virgin Media after the death of his father. He was given the number of the ‘bereavement department’ and he phoned, assuming they would help. Instead the woman demanded his father’s PIN and said only he could cancel!

  • SarahG20123 Sarah Gibbons (@SarahG20123) reported

@VodafoneUK @GeorgeMonbiot Why don’t you do something useful instead of requiring the customer to re-contact you, when they have already done so to no avail. Why is your customer service so poor in the first place?
