Hi @VodafoneUK why is your debt recovery service hassling my elderly mother to pay £65 when she terminated her account and doesn't owe you anything. She is frantic and has been to her local shop to check. She can't get through on the phone number. Is this a scam? Looks like it.

@GeorgeMonbiot @VodafoneUK My husband's family also experienced something similar with @VodafoneUK after his died. I don't use their network as a result of this

  • JLameer Jay Lam (@JLameer) reported

@GeorgeMonbiot @VodafoneUK Vodafone UK is terrible. They charged me for a new line I never asked for and they never sorted it out properly. Never got all my money back, wouldn’t touch them with a barge pole.

  • Tezcatlipoca66 Nirmal Singh Benning (@Tezcatlipoca66) reported

@GeorgeMonbiot @VodafoneUK Cancel the direct debit, explaining it to your bank, job done.

  • Jillobee1 Jillobee (@Jillobee1) reported

@GeorgeMonbiot @AmandaPCraig @VodafoneUK This is just so awful. There are people out there in your Dad’s situation that probably don’t have anyone to help them with these things. Customer service is no longer even a thing, just an impenetrable call centre wall of defence and attack

  • Tmccreight25 Tmccreight25 🇺🇦🇪🇺 (@Tmccreight25) reported

@VodafoneUK @GeorgeMonbiot You're customer service reps have done nothing but make this situation worse. I will be steering well clear of you and advising people I know to do the same.

  • thatgnat Gunny (@thatgnat) reported

@GeorgeMonbiot @VodafoneUK Stopped dealing with @VodafoneUK over 20 years ago and would NEVER EVER deal with them again. Thet were bas then and look worse now.

  • angelakittycat 𝔸𝕟𝕘𝕖𝕝𝕒 (@angelakittycat) reported

@GeorgeMonbiot @VodafoneUK Had to contact all the agencies after a relative died before lockdown, all very helpful and had deets to deal with it. Some customer services were also very sympathetic and truly sorry for loss. Surprised me that it wasn't more unemotional call handlers.

  • markapwilliams markapwilliams (@markapwilliams) reported

@VodafoneUK @GeorgeMonbiot His mother dies and you treat his family like poo and you suggest he talks to your impersonal online assistant. Suggestion - when you are in the hole, stop digging.

  • happyborg happyborg: decentralising & democratising (@happyborg) reported

@GeorgeMonbiot @VodafoneUK I had completely the opposite experience when my dad died and we need to cancel his @Guardian subscription. It was literally the easiest thing I had to do at the time. Lloyds Bank bereavement service cocked things up. All staff were great but it lead to them giving mum £500.

  • emmaherbert33 Emma Nicholls (@emmaherbert33) reported

@GeorgeMonbiot @VodafoneUK Vodafone are awful. My husband wanted to cancel his contract, at the end of it not mid way through, and was met with the same hostility. He had to threaten them with going to Trading Standards and WhatchDog. They quickly cancelled his contract after that. He has no health issues.
