Maybe tell your telephone operators...if putting you on hold....inform the customer THAT so they don't think they've been cut off!!! Put on hold...line went silent for 2 minutes. 😕

If the contract's over, I should be able to cancel it online in 30 seconds, not spend an hour jumping through hoops just to stop paying them. If you mobile supports it fastest option is get an esim install and app and register and you have number with data, SMS and calls in minutes you'll find global guys and local guys worth doing some window shopping
