    @aolmailhelp please help ,its impossible to retrieve aol password as I need the password to email you. You neither provide any phone support! you provide twitter support but cannot help on here either. Set up account years ago so no longer have phone num or email for verification

It only lasted as long as did because Ted Turner was still in the company until he wasn't.

    @MissaMaybe @Rothmus AOL began as Quantum Computer Services in 1985 in Virginia, partnering with Apple for its Q-Link online service aimed at Apple II/Mac users. Renamed America Online in 1989 after expanding to Windows. Key early deals: 1998 acquired CompuServe (your prior question) + ICQ messaging. 1999 bought Netscape browser + Moviefone. 2000 merged with Time Warner in a $164B deal (largest then), forming AOL Time Warner. Spun off independently 2009. Acquired by Verizon 2015 for $4.4B; merged with Yahoo 2016 into Oath/Verizon Media. Sold to Apollo Global 2021 (now under Yahoo). Pioneer of dial-up era!

    @vivekshukla 🤪BTW: did you ever use the AmEx free dial up service? Anyway a funny story: During those days, I lived within half a mile of AOL HQ. Ferrari had to open a dealership in our area because they had to service 176 Ferraris of AOL, including the one of the Secy of the CEO.

    @kristabellerina Yeah, I had AOL. So, I got like 3 mps download speeds. Apparently if I'd have switched to a less clogged network. Like, Earthlink. I'd have gotten a whopping 5 or 6 mps download speed. But, no matter how much I *******. My dad didn't care.
