  @calligraphymmo @Volstatsz @WarcraftDevs @maelfus I’ve never understood the whole idea of “I don’t like it, so neither should you.” Sega Vs. Nintendo died out years ago with AOL chatrooms (HAHA JOKE ON MATURITY HERE) People neee to let it go and be happy that everyone can find their niche and BE HAPPY! Be a Joy Enabler.

  @ruthm4x @AOL Did you ever hear back from anyone about this further. It really is unbelievable what has happened. What about using @gmail there service is very user friendly not sure about warning though, I thought all providers would of done this, clearly not with @YahooCare

  @_tinatruth Steve Bartlett explained financial bubbles in one minute. The AOL–Time Warner story is a powerful reminder that HIGH VALUATION IS NOT THE SAME AS REAL VALUE. It reminded me of something I wrote on August 17 on my post 👇 A GREAT ASSET doesn’t automatically make a GREAT INVESTMENT. Pay too much, and your returns can suffer. Allocate too much capital, and one mistake can damage your entire portfolio. That’s why I believe good investing isn’t just about choosing the right asset. It’s about paying the RIGHT PRICE and sizing your position wisely. The AOL–Time Warner story didn’t teach me that lesson. It reinforced it.   @2147mill The problem with the normie test is that the internet passed it in 1999 too. Totally non techy families were on AOL back then as well, over 20 million of them by the end of 1999. Amazon went from 17 million customers to 25 million between 1999 and 2001 and nearly doubled revenue, and the stock still lost 94% over those two years. So usage only tells you the thing is real. For the bubble question I look at what people pay for the earnings. Cisco was over 100x forward at the 2000 top, Nvidia is under 20x right now. Same thing with the crypto half of your post by the way. Nobody uses gold day to day either and that never made gold a bubble.

  Remember growing up, pre internet. You only interacted with bad people by accident or bad decisions The internet added the bad people to your kids bedrooms, your phone, and your mind. I miss the AOL dialup format of the internet.

  The truth is stranger. Long ago in the 90's there was still magic in the world every time you wanted to get on the internet you had to electrocute one fairy. Just one. Unfortunately disconnects were an issue. Slowly, one connection at a time, we fed all of the magic creatures into the gaping maw of oblivion to power our ICQ chats and AOL instant messengers. At least until Human Energy Update 3.9 Service Pack 2. Now every time you log in you just lose a little bit of your own soul, no fairy deaths required.

  @jamusp Yeah, but their servers are all still running Win2K Server and Bob lost the database passwords when AOL took them over That's really why they won't change it--Vivian in the Mail Room has them written down on a PostIt stuck to the backside of the plotter printer, but don't tell anyone. It's hilarious watching Bob grumble and act like he's not still looking for it every morning while he tries to make his coffee last him until lunch since they caught him using a 2nd K-cup but he only bought into one share of the employee coffee pool Bob's a douche. He also manages their social media accounts, btw. Just sayin'
