For I understand a keyboard is not an all access pass to being an *******. Too bad so many today never had a fight in a nickel arcade because some weird douchbag wouldn’t stop bumping into you while you’re trying to beat PAC Man. A quick search on AOL. com for codeword "maid services" and a woman will come to your house and do all the things your woman isn't there to do. For an extra fee, you can even get a *********. My wife has mentioned getting a "maid service" before, but I thought she had experimented with that in college & outgrew it. I've hired this side piece to come do her thing while I am at the airport picking my wife up. I hope my wife doesnt have some intuition that I cheated (on the house cleaning)

Back then we were effectively paying a software license for AOL. Today, the idea of paying to use the Internet is absolutely absurd. My gut tells me there’s a place for the frontier models. But I don’t see it being in the hands of every consumer when the technology is essentially a commodity. I think the frontier models have a legitimate business that’s going to be much smaller than the market currently prices them at. I also see people totally misunderstand the value proposition for AI. Neither OpenAI nor Anthropic are needed to sustain the AI boom. At worst there’s an air gap. Doesn’t matter if it’s open source or not—same compute is needed. And if the models aren’t as good, then ChatGPT and Claude are needed.

Novel Ninja | Catholic Geek (@thenovelninja) reportedMel misses the point, perhaps even by sincere error. It's not nostalgia for limited programs. I'm sure there are some people who want to go back to AOL, but that's not the point. It's that we have come to recognize that being parked in front of a screen for most of the day is bad for even an adult, much less a child. So many of us are nostalgic for a day when we weren't online all the time. Personally, I'm also old enough to remember when I was called socially deficient for reading all the time, just because my books were more interesting than my peers. I was in eighth grade before I found friends who liked even some of what I enjoyed. Being online isn't automatically bad, but if you don't exercise self-control you'll find it controls you. That's being terminally online -- when it defines you, more than anything else.
