@EBischoff Had the AOL/Time Warner merger never happened, do you think WCW would still be around today? If not, how much longer do you think it would have gone?

@Daniel_Penrod11 @NFL @FedEx Just waited 15 minutes to log in to AOL just to say......**** you Daniel Pencildick

@InnMonach Yes! I'll go back to AOL chats or some **** first.

  • ScottEvansOnAir Scott Evans (@ScottEvansOnAir) reported from Elsmere, Kentucky

@StevieFromAbove @EBischoff That had zero to do with the programming decision by Kellner. He didn’t care about the number of eyeballs. He wanted different eyeballs based on his perception. Also had the Fusient deal went through AOL-TW would have cut out a huge expense while keeping programming on.

  • ScottEvansOnAir Scott Evans (@ScottEvansOnAir) reported from Elsmere, Kentucky

@LambertJan42 @EBischoff They beat Raw for more than 100 weeks total. WCW didn’t go bankrupt. It was sold effectively for that amount to WWE because AOL-TW decided to end TV for wrestling killing its value. There was some bad TV in 99-01 but no matter what AOL was ending it.

  • robertrjs32 Robert (@robertrjs32) reported

@GretchenAMcC @aedwardslevy Adults who used Usenet are not the same as teens on aol chat, something awful, etc.

  • SickEconomics SickEconomics-SickDividends (@SickEconomics) reported

@PearlF I still have an AOL address. People think I'm a real freak But it still works so I just never bothered to change it. But yes, that is a big risk with any digital platform. They never quite go away... They just go zombie.

  • Afal 🐰 Bun E 🐰 (@Afal) reported

Whenever I see a post with a screenshot of some AI chat thing I skip over it because it smacks of the days when there would be forum threads of people trying to get SmarterChild on AOL Instant Messenger to say funny things and they would all suck and be the unfunniest **** ever

@profgalloway you often talk on @PivotPod about AOL’s purchase of Timewarner as the worst acq in history followed by the recent acquisition of Twitter. Which makes me wonder…what’s the best tech acq of all time? Facebooks’s purchase of Instagram? Google’s purchase of YouTube?
