@Miss_Snuffy Self pity finds many friends online from the earliest days of community forums up to today's toxic social media. "Share your support" we used to say at AOL and people did and lots was valuable, but a deep streak of 'alternative truth' bedded down there too to solicit attention.

@oelma__ Used all. Though I never personally never had an AOL address, I did email people at theirs. I also never owned a waterbed but I did sleep on one at a friend’s house

  • zubiqo
    Zubiqo (@zubiqo) reported

PortSwigger reveals new CSS attack chains breaking webmail defenses to steal passwords and tokens. The techniques compromise major platforms including Microsoft Outlook, Gmail, Fastmail, Proton Mail, Yahoo Mail, and AOL Mail. One Outlook and Firefox attack chain spoofs a Microsoft sign-in screen to capture typed passwords in real-time. A Yahoo and AOL vulnerability allows attackers to reconstruct a 12-character Medium login token to hijack accounts. The research remains strictly proof-of-concept with no active malicious exploitation reported as of August 8. Security teams can't keep relying on sanitizers to block CSS when browsers and AI assistants inherently trust the interface context.

@distributedkv Once compute is available we will leave this current token war setup. This is much like the AOL charge by the minute internet back in the 90's. Then some brave souls that where smaller just said unlimited internet for 20 bucks a month. Then the communication companies offered DSL and access to the service for $50 a month. More than likely we will have some small data centers maybe 10 racks serving a neighborhood. Do you really need 2 trillion perimeters to write posts, summarize emails?

I never had a MySpace and now I feel like a huge part of my life i missed out on. I did do the aol chat rooms for a longer than necessary time but that was before and after the state hospital. I am too old I am just now again realizing this for the fifty millionth time in life.
