When it first arrived — and I made a blog there within the first two months of its public existence — @tumblr was the near perfect blogging platform. Then AOL destroyed it. Now it’s a horrible jail where I can’t get rid of this dumb screen. Thanks @automatic.

@JustinMcElroy I used to stay late after work a few nights a week to argue with people in AOL chat rooms…bc NOBODY had internet at home. At the time, there was no such thing as IT tracing your ill-advised, unprofessional internet activities. It was the best of times and the worst of times.

@Just_this_time @TychoTithonus Do I care about AOL users? Not so much. Just look at the UI. That's like 1999, 2000 UI design. Even with the updates. AOL just needs to go away. Unless someone wants to try and fix it. UI in most modern browsers works for me. I think you can teach anyone to use one.

@JustinMcElroy AOL used to give out "free trial" CD's like candy, and every time my dad would call to cancel our service because we couldn't afford it they'd offer us a free month to keep us on the hook- we got free internet for years that way, lmao

@JustinMcElroy My wife and I never paid for the $10 dial-up internet plan. We just kept using the one month free trial AOL CDs that we found in magazines.

@TheMoonCarl No, FTM will reach the top 10 mcap coins, and when it does. ETH will lose market share. They aren't innovating fast enough, there is too much competition, their tx speeds are slow and their gas fees are insane. They will be like the aol of the dial-up days soon.

When I was 11, I was curious and looked at a random AOL chatroom and received an email from someone I’d never spoken to. Enclosed were the boudoir photos of a very unattractive couple. I deleted them and somehow managed to move on with my life.

@elonmusk It’s been like that forever it’s nothing new. Ever since the internet began. It was happening before Napster. Even before MP3 rooms on AOL and it will never go away. Not with the price of cable then 400 different streaming services. People need to drop cable and force their hands

Some #Crypto projects will be akin to @AOL & @napster in their infancy. The top 100 today is not the same top 100 as 5 yrs ago and the top 100 today will not be the same in 5 yrs. While I remain optimistic I have to be realistic; some projects will never reach a new ATH. Few.
