@TalkTalk , @Yahoo and @AOL seem to have the greatest difficulty maintaining a normal service. I pay for a service which I am not getting. I am cut off from my email at the moment. Previously, I have been plagued by Indian sub continent scammers because of a data breach. #NotGood

@FrozenAlchemy Kids today will never know the pleasure of that screech of sounds crawling up your spine waiting for aol to pop up saying “You’ve got mail!” Or having to wait because someone was on the line.

@thisone0verhere IBM PC Junior … DOS operating system … Windows at that time did not exist … it had a very slow dial up process to connect to the Internet. I used Prodigy, AOL, and Netscape software to play around with. This was back in 1983/ 84 period.

@thisone0verhere I didn't get my own computer until my junior year of college. I'd go to my friend's house to get on aol. I'd use school computers or library computers for school assignments. We were poor. I'm 39.

@AnaBrayTech At first yes. Then my mom got a second land line because having 4 kids fighting over the internet (and AOL only allowing one sign in at a time) made it a pain in the *** with only one line.

@paulinaporizkov Before all those web sites came along, I was doing AOL chat rooms, kind of a combination of all of them. Never a boring moment.

Remember the AOL "You've got mail!" notification? I don't think people would tolerate that crap in modern life. You'd hear it every freaking minute.

I remember the AOL disc's that came in the mail, the AOL connection process and sound, you've got jail, AIM, chat rooms, napster, floppy disks (the big joints and the smaller joints), Mom just flipping the switch in the back instead of shutting the system down
