  • charlottemf406 Charlotte M. Freeman (@charlottemf406) reported

@RadioKitty For me it was AOL (this is how long ago it was). I swear I had to send them multiple death certificates. And to the person in charge of my brother's 401k, who treated me like a thief, when I had already sent the executor paperwork in, **** you, I still remember.

  • mikeindustries Mike Davidson (@mikeindustries) reported

@Bretton Haha. Yes. Still bad, but not as bad. I always think of AOL when I hear that phrase.

  • KraZeMike83 Kɾαȥē Mike (@KraZeMike83) reported

Some #Crypto projects will be akin to @AOL & @napster in their infancy. The top 100 today is not the same top 100 as 5 yrs ago and the top 100 today will not be the same in 5 yrs. While I remain optimistic I have to be realistic; some projects will never reach a new ATH. Few.

  • madangelmak madangelmak (@madangelmak) reported

@SebGorka My Dial up connection to access AOL was faster. WTF with this launch?

  • CarlEricEagle Charlie Paradise (@CarlEricEagle) reported

@sayinshallah Lol ETH is AOL such a dog expensive now will come way down along with its five forked cousins. It’s utility is way too expensive. But really digest the first four words of my reply playa

  • PamSimson Pam (@PamSimson) reported

@Snap1967Ginger @atensnut What service did you use for email I heard yahoo, Google and aol will not allow verification emails Thanks

  • TychoTithonus Royce Williams (@TychoTithonus) reported

@munin They are coasting on fumes of (millions of?) aged users who do not - and will never - understand that AOL != the Internet, or a different email client. They also shove tiny banner ads into absolutely ... every ... single ... dialog box.

  • MorganPeteBrown Morgan Peter Brown (@MorganPeteBrown) reported

@JustinMcElroy We used to hang out in AOL chat rooms and just, like, pretend we were on a Federation Starship together. It was awesome.

  • TychoTithonus Royce Williams (@TychoTithonus) reported

@Just_this_time @damienhull Indeed. And former dial-up users that have moved to the "BYO Internet" plan ... actually have trouble understanding that they don't have to fire up the AOL client (like they used to) in order to "get on the Internet". I know people who still think they have to do this. For real.

  • TychoTithonus Royce Williams (@TychoTithonus) reported

@Just_this_time @damienhull & in this case, AOL is fully aware of email "capture" of the user - they make sure there's no way to open email links in another browser (forced to use AOL itself). & many of these users don't even know what a browser *is*, so changing default would be only feasible way to help.
