    When Netscape was acquired by AOL in 1998 for $4.2B they were still unprofitable but had >50% revenue growth and dominant market share with revenue projected to grow at a 44% CAGR and surpass $1B in just a few years. Sound familiar? You wont guess what happened next: $MSFT bundled Internet Explorer with Windows for free and took 80% of the share overnight. If you don't know how to apply this historical analogue to today I cant help you.

    @Boblhead truly!! was at a restaurant today and someone's ringtone was the AOL dial-up tone. ended up going down a rabbithole bc of that

    @StarbuckasFRO7 @DiscussingFilm Well WB is dead weight essentially. No matter the merger or sale Warner Brothers has dragged that company down. Time, Turner Broadcasting, AOL, AT&T, and Discovery have lost substantially because of them.

    NETSCAPE was like AOL, Browser type systems - that all changed in 2000. Using your Phone line was fun - 20 minuet downloads for a Bitmap / Jpeg picture. No one today could "put up" with how slow things used to be. Websites were made with Wordpress and were limited to say the least.
