I can't recall if there were changes from then to the final cut, but I do remember that the whole premise seemed too contrived - with a seemingly washed up 60s actor.

There was AskJeeves, Netscape, Javanoid, Snood, Neopets, AOL, & some other old *** pre-YouTube, pre-Google **** that probably took forever to load if you were lucky enough to maintain a stable dial-up connection. Poor reception, low data rates, weather down times, high prices, caps on usage are all "features" of a Geo bird. Starlink is closer to fiber while Hughesnet was like a 9600 baud modem doing AOL form 1990.

Even WCW at its peak '96-'97 nWo v Crow Sting days it was bad with execs. Turner execs hated wrestling. Only Ted kept it around. Starrcade '97 only accelerated the creative embarrassment.
