@ThisisLukeOwen @WrestleTalk_TV @OliDavis Maybe you should start all listening again because he has constantly said what mistakes is made. Yes WCW was badly run but only when the AOL merger & Thunder were brought in on hisxwatch. he couldn't have been doing a bad job if they were winning 83 weeks in a row.

WhatsApp is bad. What are we using now? Telegram? Signal? AOL Instant Messenger? Pagers? Opening a window and screaming?

@amandajpanda Verizon is my isp, they sold off their email service to AOL. You’ve got mail! They were my first dial up provider and until this happened I was sure they were long gone.

  • WrigsFL2 Michael Lawson (@WrigsFL2) reported

@EddieMcClintock 😢 that morning I turned on AOL and saw one of the towers on fire. 1st thought: what movie is this? Then it sank in, turned on the tv and watched it all unfold. For many nights I saw those towers come down every time I closed my eyes.

paul tidwell paul tidwell 0 seconds ago The thing I HATE is aol was dumb as **** but FAR more friendly and I'd rather stupid and friendly than what we have now.

  • xk051 Donald Lindsay (@xk051) reported

Interesting. Internet Relay Chat #EFNet was the first service requiring my email as security against eggdrop server bots. AOL also used email and provided a UI. MSN followed suit and chat started its long run. mIRC, the Messengers, ICQ. Browsers were still too slow and simple.

  • Kythra2 Kythra (@Kythra2) reported

The thing I miss is that while the people of AOL might have been kind of stupid they were a lot more friendly than internet users are today.

  • TaborTCU Tabor 🇦🇲 (@TaborTCU) reported

@bigtuper Ok, this has morbidly funny. There had been a couple weeks of high profile hacking of big websites like AOL. My browser default page was Yahoo! and it had a massive visual about being attacked. I thought, "Haha holy ****, they hacked Yahoo! too!" Didn't occur to me it was real.

  • HippieGeekGirl Ace in Your Face (she/her) (@HippieGeekGirl) reported

@LokiOfSassgaard Thinking about what I was like as a teenager makes me very glad I grew up before social media was a thing. Being awkward and annoying in AOL chatrooms was bad enough. XD

  • ddephron Drake D Ephron (@ddephron) reported

@ridorthe9th @graystorm I never forget I was in my bedroom at home. I was sitting and watching news on tv at the same time I got on AOL, Ricky sent me a message and told me to watch the news. I told him I was watching tv that north tower was heavily smoking. 1/

@TheRealBeerJD @Matthewobrien_ @ShaanVP yes. but why would the masses ever adopt ETH? 3,4 figure tx fees.. even if they get them down to $10 that still doesn't work.. AOL and MySpace were pretty hott for awhile..
